Light and controls
The Pro has a front light and touchscreen. Xteink lists both physical buttons and touch controls; an independent GBAtemp review describes tapping and swiping as well as using the buttons. The review also reports adjustable brightness and color temperature. This combination lets readers choose between touch navigation and button control on a very small device. Read the GBAtemp review.
The X4 Pro’s front light and touchscreen are the main distinctions from the X4 Classic described on Xteink’s product page, which lists buttons and no front light. If those features matter, check the model name carefully when comparing listings.

Will it read your Kindle books?
Do not assume it can load books from an existing Kindle library. Cunningham’s October 6 article says the X4 Pro cannot load a reader’s existing Kindle library and that DRM-free e-books are needed. Xteink lists EPUB and TXT document support, with import through its app or USB; its listed formats do not make Kindle DRM-protected purchases compatible. If your books are tied to a Kindle account, this is not a straightforward Kindle replacement.

What the small size and charging mean in practice
A 4.3-inch screen makes this device unusually compact, but it also leaves less room for text than a conventional e-reader. The GBAtemp reviewer noted shadows at the edges associated with the sunken screen. That is an observed design tradeoff from one review, not a controlled display test.
