Its swiveling front seats, folding rear bench and optional table also let the cabin shift between sleeping, lounging and working setups. That makes it a cleverly packaged micro-camper on paper, but there is no independent road test or real-world range data to establish how well it works as an everyday SUV.
How the N90 Max Studio becomes a camper
The Studio’s defining feature is an electric lifting cabin roof integrated at the factory, rather than a roof added later as an aftermarket conversion. Xiaomi described this design as “currently very rare on domestic SUVs” in its September 7, 2026 announcement. Once raised, the roof creates a two-level cabin; Xiaomi says the second row converts into a bed in 30 seconds.

New Atlas’s September 11, 2026 report describes an upper bed measuring 195 × 99 cm and a lower bed measuring 187 × 124 cm, made by folding the power-operated rear bench. The report says the upper space is more comfortable for children than adults, while adults can use the lower bed. These are reported dimensions and layout details, not the result of an independent test.
What the cabin can do besides sleeping
The interior is designed to change roles. According to New Atlas, the front seats swivel to face the rear, the rear bench can fold independently, and an available rail-mounted table can serve for meals or work. The report also describes a mobile-theater option with a projection system and 30-inch screen, upper-level air-conditioning vents, and an 18-W charging outlet.

Does it look like an ordinary SUV when the roof is closed?
New Atlas reports that the closed lifting roof adds 10 cm to the vehicle’s height and gives the N90 Max Studio a drag coefficient of 0.245. Those figures help describe the roof’s packaging, but they do not by themselves establish handling, comfort, efficiency or ease of parking. The available reports do not provide an independent assessment of those everyday-use questions.

Where it is sold—and what is still unknown
New Atlas reports that the Studio is available exclusively on mainland China. The launch information does not establish availability elsewhere, ownership experience, independent safety results or real-world range. The reported price and configuration are launch-era details and may change.
