Display: a sharper panel versus a larger, faster one
The Redmi Note 15 5G has the better screen technology. Its 6.77-inch curved AMOLED panel uses 2392 × 1080 pixels and Xiaomi lists 3200 nits peak brightness with HDR10+ support. AMOLED panels generally deliver deeper blacks and higher contrast than LCDs, and HDR10+ support matters if you watch streaming video with HDR content.

The realme 16T 5G has the advantages in size and smoothness. Its 6.81-inch panel is slightly larger, and its 144Hz refresh rate is higher than the Redmi’s 120Hz, which makes scrolling and animations look smoother. The trade-off is resolution. At 720 × 1570, the realme has fewer than half the pixels of the Redmi’s 2392 × 1080 panel, and 91mobiles lists it as an LCD, so text and fine detail will look softer on it.
Performance: mixed benchmark results
Xiaomi names the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for the Redmi, and 91mobiles lists the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 for the realme. The two phones post results in opposite directions on the two benchmarks 91mobiles reports:

Because the two benchmarks disagree, neither chip has a clear overall lead on these figures. Real-world speed also depends on software, thermal behaviour and the games or apps you use, which these scores do not measure.
Cameras: more lenses on the Redmi
The Redmi Note 15 5G has a 108MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens, according to 91mobiles and Xiaomi’s product listing. The realme 16T 5G has a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP mono lens. The main practical difference is the ultrawide lens: the Redmi has one, and the realme’s second rear camera is a mono sensor rather than an ultrawide.

Megapixel counts do not predict photo quality on their own. Sensor size, processing and lens quality matter as much, and neither source included side-by-side sample photos, so this article does not rank the two cameras on image quality. Xiaomi states the Redmi supports 4K video recording with optical image stabilisation (OIS). The realme’s video specifications are not stated in the sources used here.
Battery and charging
The realme 16T 5G has the larger battery. Its 8000mAh cell has about 45% more capacity than the Redmi’s 5520mAh. Both phones support 45W wired charging, so charging speed is effectively equal.

Battery capacity does not translate directly into runtime. In 91mobiles’ PCMark battery test, the realme lasted 17h41m and the Redmi 17h00m, a gap of 41 minutes, or roughly 4%. That result depends on the test conditions 91mobiles used, so treat it as one data point rather than a guarantee of daily endurance.

For the realme 16T 5G, 91mobiles lists 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates. realme’s own update policy page was not located for this comparison, so treat the realme figures as 91mobiles’ report until realme confirms them. If long-term updates are a priority, this is the one area where the Redmi’s commitment is clearly stated by the manufacturer.
