The vivo X300 FE and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 SE 5G sit in different price brackets. On the official India pages checked on 7 October 2026, Xiaomi advertised ₹13,999 for the Redmi, while vivo’s official store showed ₹94,999 for the X300 FE in its 12GB+256GB configuration. That gap of roughly ₹81,000 is the first thing to weigh. Once budget is settled, the choice comes down to screen size, camera priorities, and how much you care about charging speed and storage. The two phones are not direct rivals, and the specifications alone do not name a universal winner.
Price difference: what the figures show and what they don’t
The two prices below come from each brand’s own India pages. They are dated snapshots, not guaranteed live prices, and they describe different memory configurations, so the comparison is not like-for-like.

The Redmi price is an advertised figure. Xiaomi presents it as an offer price, so the amount you actually pay can differ with discounts, bank offers, or stock levels. The vivo figure is the displayed price for one configuration; other vivo storage options are priced separately and were not shown in the same comparison.
Why third-party listings disagree
Retail and comparison sites showed different numbers during the same period, and none of them match the official pages:

The sources do not explain these differences. They may reflect different retailers, different dates, or different memory configurations. Use the manufacturer store prices as the reference point, note the configuration you are looking at, and check the live price and availability before you buy.
Which one fits your situation
Work through these questions in order. Each one narrows the choice before you reach the next.
- What is your budget? At the displayed prices, the Redmi is the only one of the two in an entry-level range. If your spending limit is near ₹90,000, the Redmi is not an alternative to the X300 FE; it is a different class of phone.
- Do you want a large screen or a compact one? The Redmi’s 6.67-inch panel is the larger of the two. The X300 FE’s 6.31-inch display is the more compact body, which matters if you prefer one-handed use.
- Do you shoot a lot at a distance? The X300 FE has a dedicated telephoto lens. The Redmi has no telephoto lens on its listed camera arrangement.
- Do you need top-tier performance? The X300 FE uses the higher-tier listed chipset. If you need that headroom for demanding games or heavy multitasking, it is the only one of the two that is positioned for it.
- How much do fast charging and battery capacity matter to you? The X300 FE lists both a larger battery and much faster charging. If you can live with a slower charge and a smaller battery, the Redmi’s specifications are adequate for everyday use.
- How much storage do you need? The X300 FE’s memory options start at 256GB. The Redmi’s base configuration is 128GB, but it has a hybrid microSD slot for expansion.

Processor and performance
The listed chipsets are the clearest performance difference between these phones. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a higher-tier chip than the Dimensity 7025-Ultra. That is a statement about the chip’s positioning, not a measured result. No independent benchmark tests, gaming frame-rate tests, or thermal tests were gathered for either phone, so this article does not claim how much faster the vivo is in practice. If performance is your deciding factor, compare independent benchmark and review results for both models before you commit.

The Redmi offers the bigger panel. The vivo has the sharper one on paper. Its 2640×1216 resolution on a 6.31-inch screen works out to roughly 461 pixels per inch, while the Redmi’s 2400×1080 on a 6.67-inch screen is roughly 395 pixels per inch. Those densities are calculated from the listed dimensions and resolutions, not measured on the phones, but they show that the vivo’s smaller screen is packed more densely.
The refresh rate is confirmed only for the Redmi (up to 120Hz). The official vivo specifications reviewed did not state one, so do not assume a matching rate.
Cameras
The most meaningful hardware difference is the telephoto lens on the vivo. The X300 FE has a 50MP telephoto with optical image stabilization, a feature the Redmi’s listed camera arrangement does not include. The Redmi’s 2MP macro is a secondary lens, and its listed specifications do not describe how well it performs in practice.
Megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality. The vivo’s front camera is listed at 50MP and the Redmi’s at 20MP, but resolution is only one factor in sharpness, low-light performance, and colour.
vivo’s zoom claims
vivo markets the telephoto camera with the line: “Powered by AI True Clarity Engine, the periscope telephoto camera on vivo X300 FE takes clear photos with 3x, 10x and 20x zoom.” This is vivo India’s own claim. It has not been verified by independent image-quality testing in the sources used for this article, so the 10x and 20x figures describe what the phone is designed to do rather than what it reliably delivers.
Battery and charging
vivo lists a larger battery, 6500mAh as a typical capacity, against the Redmi’s 5110mAh. It also lists 90W FlashCharge against the Redmi’s up to 45W, and the Redmi’s charger is sold separately. Those numbers suggest the X300 FE charges faster and may last longer, but they do not measure real-world endurance. Battery life depends on screen brightness, network use, and software behaviour, and no controlled battery tests were used here.
Memory and storage
The X300 FE is offered in three configurations: 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB. The Redmi’s listed base memory is 6GB+128GB, with virtual RAM options. Its hybrid microSD slot can add storage, but a hybrid slot typically shares a tray with the second SIM, so you may have to choose between a second SIM and a microSD card. Check the exact slot layout before you rely on expansion.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBuild, software, and other details
The Redmi lists IP64 dust and splash resistance and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Its software is HyperOS 1.0 on Android 14. The X300 FE runs OriginOS 6 and lists USB-C and Bluetooth 6.0. vivo’s store describes the glass material, but the official specifications reviewed did not state a water-resistance rating or headphone jack, so do not assume either. Software update commitments for both phones were not stated in the sources used for this article.
What these specifications cannot tell you
- How the cameras compare in real photos, especially at telephoto distances.
- Real-world battery life or charging time.
- Sustained performance under heavy load.
- Whether the displayed prices are still available, and whether discounts apply at your retailer.
Each of these needs independent testing or a live check at the point of sale. The official pages used for this article were accessed on 7 October 2026, and prices and stock levels can change quickly.
