Xiaomi 18 Pro Max vs Samsung Galaxy S26 FE: Specs and Price Comparison

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is reported to offer a larger, brighter display, higher-resolution cameras, a much larger battery and faster charging than the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE. Samsung’s advantages are a documented seven-year software-support commitment and confirmed prices in several markets. The specifications are not a substitute for independent camera, battery or performance tests—and a fair price comparison depends on country and storage tier.

At a glance: Xiaomi 18 Pro Max vs Galaxy S26 FE

The evidence behind the two spec sheets differs: Samsung’s figures below come from its official regional announcements, while the Xiaomi specifications and converted prices are reported by Spanish newspaper Cinco Días. Treat Xiaomi’s figures as reported rather than independently confirmed.

Which display is better on paper?

The Xiaomi’s reported panel is 0.2 inches larger diagonally and has a higher listed resolution and peak-brightness figure. Its reported 1–120 Hz range also starts below Samsung’s 60/120 Hz options. Samsung’s official figure is for an FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel; the Xiaomi report identifies an OLED panel but does not establish equivalent measurement conditions for peak brightness. These are spec-sheet distinctions, not evidence of which screen looks better in person.

How do the cameras compare?

Xiaomi: higher reported sensor resolutions and periscope zoom

Cinco Días reports a 200 MP main camera, a 200 MP periscope telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultra-wide. The report attributes a claim of reaching 12.8x with little quality loss to the manufacturer; that is not an independent test result.

Samsung: optical zoom with stated stabilization

Samsung lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12 MP ultra-wide and an 8 MP telephoto offering 3x optical zoom with OIS. Higher megapixel counts alone do not establish sharper or better photos. The reviewed information contains no head-to-head camera test, so it cannot settle image quality, low-light performance or video quality.

Battery size and charging speed

The Xiaomi report lists an 8,500 mAh battery with 100 W wired, 50 W wireless and 27 W reverse wired charging. Samsung lists a 4,900 mAh typical battery; Samsung India specifies a rated minimum of 4,755 mAh, 45 W wired and 15 W wireless charging. Samsung says the phone can reach up to 69% in around 30 minutes with a 45 W adapter. That charging statement is Samsung’s India figure, not a comparative test.

Capacity and charging wattage do not predict how long a phone lasts in everyday use. No comparable endurance test is available here, and the Xiaomi figures are secondary-source reporting. Samsung also says its 45 W adapter is sold separately in Singapore; check the box contents and compatible charging accessories in your market.

Software support and useful life

Samsung promises up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the Galaxy S26 FE. The Cinco Días report identifies the Xiaomi’s software as HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 but does not state an update-support period. That leaves a meaningful difference in what is documented; it does not establish that Xiaomi will provide no updates or predict either phone’s real-world longevity.

Price difference depends on where you buy

There is no reliable single price gap without matching country, currency, storage configuration, tax basis and date. Samsung publishes prices for specific regional configurations, while Cinco Días gives approximate euro conversions of Xiaomi announced prices—not confirmed retail prices in a buyer’s country.

Do not compare the India rupee price directly with the Xiaomi euro estimates, or treat Samsung’s Singapore prices as prices elsewhere. Before deciding, look for the exact storage model’s current price from an authorized seller in your country and check whether the Xiaomi model is actually available there. Samsung announced availability beginning September 4, 2026, in select markets; availability, configurations and offers vary by region.

Which phone should you choose?

• Consider the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max if the reported larger display, high-resolution periscope camera, large battery and faster charging match your priorities—and if you can confirm local availability, warranty coverage and the exact configuration.
• Consider the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE if Samsung’s stated seven-year software-support commitment, lighter listed weight, 3x optical telephoto with OIS, or documented local pricing matters more to you.
• Wait for independent comparisons if your decision depends on real battery endurance, camera output, sustained performance or screen readability. The specifications alone cannot answer those questions.
