Xiaomi specifies a 5x periscope telephoto camera, a higher-resolution display and 12GB RAM options; vivo specifies 90W charging, a 50MP selfie camera and lighter body variants. Their India prices also vary by listing and stock, so compare the exact 12GB/256GB configuration at checkout rather than relying on a single headline price.
India price difference: compare the same configuration
Price snapshots checked on October 7, 2026, are inconsistent even within Xiaomi’s official India listings. The Xiaomi India online store displayed ₹64,999 for the 17T with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, against a struck-through ₹84,999. A separate Xiaomi India product listing showed a starting/current price of ₹69,999 against the same ₹84,999 marketing price. These are separate page listings, not a confirmed single checkout price; verify the selected configuration and final amount before buying. Xiaomi India product listing and Xiaomi India online store.

Display and handling
Both phones have the same 6.59-inch diagonal and AMOLED panel type. Xiaomi lists a resolution of 2756 × 1268 and up to 120Hz, while vivo lists 2750 × 1260; the small resolution difference does not, by itself, establish a visible quality advantage. The cited vivo store specification does not state a refresh rate, so it is not safe to treat the panels as a confirmed refresh-rate match.
On listed dimensions, the Xiaomi is 200g and 8.17mm thick. vivo’s weight and thickness depend on color: Authentic Black is 187g and 7.40mm, while Passion Red and Sand Beige are 194g and 7.59mm. The black vivo variant is the lightest and thinnest of the listed choices; the other two are also lighter than the Xiaomi on paper.

Camera trade-offs: zoom or selfies?
Telephoto and ultra-wide
Xiaomi explicitly specifies a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera. vivo lists a 50MP OIS telephoto camera, but the cited official specification does not state an equivalent 5x reach. If long-distance framing is the priority, Xiaomi’s published 5x specification is the clearer advantage. vivo’s telephoto includes listed optical image stabilization (OIS); Xiaomi’s cited summary does not state OIS for its telephoto, so do not infer a direct stabilization comparison from the camera descriptions alone.
Xiaomi lists a 12MP ultra-wide camera and vivo an 8MP ultra-wide. These resolution figures do not prove which phone produces better images. Both manufacturers list a 50MP main camera, with vivo’s official specification explicitly noting OIS for the main camera.

Front camera
vivo lists a 50MP front camera, compared with Xiaomi’s 32MP. That is a resolution advantage on the spec sheet, not a guarantee of better selfies, video, or low-light results.
Performance, memory and battery
The phones use different chipsets: Xiaomi lists the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, while vivo lists the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Xiaomi’s India configurations all have 12GB RAM; vivo offers a lower-cost-entry 8GB/256GB configuration as well as 12GB options. Without comparable controlled testing, chipset names and RAM figures alone do not establish which phone is faster in sustained gaming, everyday use or demanding apps.

Both manufacturers specify a 6500mAh typical-capacity battery. Xiaomi rates wired charging at 67W and vivo at 90W. The wattage figures indicate different rated charging capabilities, not how many minutes either phone takes to charge; actual charging time is not established by these specifications.

The vivo India store page lists OriginOS 6 but does not state the V70 Elite’s update duration. A 91mobiles comparison page includes a secondary update-duration claim, but that is not confirmation of an official vivo commitment. Buyers who prioritize support length should ask vivo to confirm the policy for the India model rather than treating an unverified secondary listing as a promise. 91mobiles comparison page.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose Xiaomi 17T if you specifically want a manufacturer-listed 5x periscope telephoto, Xiaomi’s stated 120Hz display, or Xiaomi’s published update schedule. Its listed India variants start at 12GB RAM.
- Choose vivo V70 Elite if 90W rated charging, a 50MP front camera, or a lighter listed color variant matters more to you. It also has an 8GB/256GB configuration, though that does not guarantee a lower current price.
- For either phone, verify before paying: exact RAM/storage, color, current stock, final checkout price, and whether the retailer is the manufacturer’s India store or a marketplace. The October 7, 2026 price snapshots are not interchangeable or guaranteed current.
Xiaomi announced the 17T’s India launch for June 4, 2026. Xiaomi India launch event page. The practical choice still depends on which listed hardware differences matter to you, your preferred interface, and the price and stock available for the configuration you want.
