It is most compelling for a compatible PC handling bandwidth-heavy work; whether it is worth buying depends on the current price, because a Gen5 rating alone does not guarantee faster everyday use or games.
What the 1TB NV10000 offers
The 1TB model is TEAMGROUP’s NV10000 M.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, part number TM8FGP001T0C101. It uses a PCIe Gen5 x4 interface and measures 80.0 × 22.0 × 3.7 mm. Confirm your M.2 slot and available clearance before buying. TEAMGROUP’s product specifications list these figures for the 1TB model.

| Specification | 1TB NV10000 | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Interface | PCIe Gen5 x4, NVMe | The system must support the drive’s interface to use its full bandwidth. |
| Sequential read rating | Up to 10,000 MB/s | Manufacturer maximum, not a guaranteed speed in every system or workload. |
| Sequential write rating | Up to 8,200 MB/s | Manufacturer maximum; actual and sustained results vary with hardware, software, and workload. |
| DRAM cache | None | Tech4Gamers describes the drive as supporting Host Memory Buffer (HMB); this is not a dedicated DRAM cache. |
| Endurance rating | 600 TBW | A manufacturer-rated total written capacity, not a forecast of an individual drive’s lifespan. |
| Warranty | Five-year limited warranty | Coverage is subject to official terms and local applicability. |
TEAMGROUP notes that transfer speed depends on the test hardware and software. Its general I/O figures are measured with CrystalDiskMark on a new, unused product, so they should be read as specification conditions rather than a promise about every workload.

How fast is it in independent tests?
In its October 1, 2026 review, Tech4Gamers reported 10,144 MB/s read and 8,481 MB/s write in its benchmarks—slightly above TEAMGROUP’s stated sequential maximums. Those are results from that publication’s test setup, not guaranteed outcomes for another computer. Tech4Gamers also said the SSD ran cool in its testing and reported 12 hours of testing.
#1 Best Overall
- Performance Boosted with PCIe Gen5 x4
Long writes can produce a different picture from short benchmark runs. In a 300 GB sustained-write test performed March 23, 2026, SSD Tester reported that the cache was exhausted after about 208 GB, followed by throttling. For that specific test, it reported average read speed of 6,103 MB/s and average write speed of 3,427 MB/s. This result describes one long-duration workload and test system; it should not be treated as the drive’s everyday speed or as a result every user will see.
Thermals and the DRAM-less design
The independent Tech4Gamers test characterized the NV10000’s thermal performance as cool, but temperatures depend on the system, airflow, workload, and any M.2 heatsink. That review finding does not establish that the SSD will run cool in every laptop or desktop. Check the space around the M.2 slot and the cooling provisions of the machine you intend to use.

- NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 High Speed Interface - Sequential read/write speed can reach up to 1800/1500 MB/s which reduce the delays of the operating system and game/software.
- Ultra High Performance - Transfer performance is 5 times higher than the SATA III interface. Capable of reading and writing large amounts of game data, complex graphics and motion processing algorithms, or loading heavy duty video/graphics editing software.
- M.2 2280 specification: Supports the next-generation platforms of Intel and AMD. Suitable for both desktop and notebook
- Supports SLC Caching technology. Greatly enhance computing performance
- International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions.
The drive has no dedicated DRAM cache. Tech4Gamers describes it as DRAM-less with HMB support, which uses system memory rather than onboard DRAM. The Overclock Page’s September 30, 2026 review, which says TEAMGROUP supplied its sample, identified a DRAM-less Phison E31T-family controller and two Kioxia BiCS8 3D TLC NAND chips in that sample. These are sample-specific teardown observations, not a guarantee that every production unit has identical components.
Is the NV10000 a good SSD for gaming?
Tech4Gamers reported negligible gaming gains in its assessment. That is a useful caution: a high sequential-transfer rating does not automatically translate into shorter game loading or a noticeably better experience. The drive may make more sense for work that can use high storage bandwidth than for a gaming build where the main goal is faster load times. The result for a particular game and system depends on the workload and platform.

- NVMe PCIe Gen4x4 High Speed Interface - Sequential read/write speed can reach up to 5,000 / 4,500MB/s. Compared with the PCIe Gen3 interface, the performance is more than doubled, and drastically enhances work efficiency.
- MP44L M.2 PCIe SSD is the first product to introduce conductive graphene coating on aluminum foil to the SSD label. Less than 1mm thick, the new label design eradicates mechanical interference when assembling. Moreover, together with the onboard M.2 heat sink, the heat dissipating performance is doubled!
- M.2 2280 specification: Supports the next-generation platforms of Intel and AMD. Suitable for both desktop and notebook. Capable of reading and writing large amounts of game data, complex graphics and motion processing algorithms, or loading heavy duty video/graphics editing software.

Check compatibility before buying
PCIe generation support is a system-level requirement, not just an M.2 form-factor question. TEAMGROUP warns that some older Intel- and AMD-chipset motherboards and laptops may not support newer-interface SSDs, and advises checking the device, motherboard, processor, and BIOS specifications. Its compatibility guidance also recommends updating the BIOS where appropriate.
- Confirm the system supports PCIe Gen5 NVMe storage; do not assume an M.2 slot supports every interface generation.
- Check the motherboard or laptop specifications and available M.2 clearance for an 80.0 × 22.0 × 3.7 mm drive.
- Verify CPU and BIOS support against the system manufacturer’s documentation.
- Check cooling arrangements for the intended system, especially where airflow or heatsink clearance is limited.
The available manufacturer guidance covers Intel and AMD platforms, desktops, and laptops. It does not establish universal PlayStation 5 compatibility, so check the console’s current requirements and installation and cooling constraints separately before considering this drive for a console.

Price, endurance, and warranty
Tech4Gamers listed a $200 price when it published its review on October 1, 2026, and called the price steep. That is a dated review-time observation, not a current quote. Check the price available to you and compare it with compatible alternatives before deciding whether the Gen5 performance is worth paying for.

TEAMGROUP rates the 1TB model at 600 TBW and lists a five-year limited warranty. TBW is an endurance specification, not a promise that a drive will last for a particular number of years or fail immediately once that figure is reached. Review the official product and warranty information for the conditions that apply in your region.

Who should buy the TEAMGROUP NV10000 1TB?
Consider it if your desktop or laptop supports PCIe Gen5 x4, your work can benefit from high storage throughput, and its current price is competitive for the capacity and warranty. For a gaming-focused or general-purpose system where everyday responsiveness matters more than peak sequential speeds, the negligible gaming gains reported by Tech4Gamers make a price premium harder to justify. Compare current prices, platform compatibility, sustained-workload needs, cooling, endurance, and warranty before choosing.
