Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The POCO X8 Pro Max is the bigger, battery-focused choice, while the Xiaomi 17T is smaller and adds a dedicated telephoto camera. Their official specifications show an 8,500mAh battery and 100W charging for POCO, versus 6,500mAh and 67W for Xiaomi. There is no reliable universal price difference: the available price examples are from different markets and sources, so compare local prices for the same storage configuration.
How the Xiaomi 17T and POCO X8 Pro Max compare
The figures below are manufacturer-published specifications, not results of comparative testing. Xiaomi’s global pages describe the Xiaomi 17T specifications; POCO publishes the X8 Pro Max specifications.

Which phone is bigger and easier to carry?
The Xiaomi 17T is the more compact phone: its screen measures 6.59 inches, and its published weight is 200g. The POCO’s 6.83-inch display gives it more screen area, but it weighs 218g—18g more than the Xiaomi. The published dimensions put the POCO wider and taller, while both are about 8.2mm thick.

Which has the better display?
Both manufacturers list a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The POCO’s panel is physically larger, and its listed resolution is 2772 × 1280; Xiaomi lists 2756 × 1268 for the 17T. Those specifications alone do not establish which screen looks better: they are not independent measurements of brightness, color accuracy, or outdoor readability.

Which has the better camera?
The Xiaomi 17T has more camera-role flexibility on paper. Its rear array includes a 50MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilization and a stated 115mm-equivalent focal length, alongside a stabilized 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide. POCO lists a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide, without a dedicated telephoto camera in the published rear setup.
That makes the Xiaomi the more versatile hardware choice for distant subjects. It does not prove that it takes better photos overall: no comparative camera testing is established here, and megapixel counts or lens specifications alone cannot settle image quality.

Which has the bigger battery and faster charging?
POCO lists an 8,500mAh typical battery and 100W HyperCharge; Xiaomi lists a 6,500mAh typical silicon-carbon battery and 67W HyperCharge. POCO also lists up to 27W wired reverse charging, compared with up to 22.5W on the Xiaomi. These are capacity and charging specifications, not independently measured battery endurance or charging times. Actual results depend on usage and conditions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesDo the processors make the POCO faster?
The POCO’s listed Dimensity 9500s is a higher product-tier designation than Xiaomi’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra, and POCO specifies a 3nm process compared with Xiaomi’s 4nm. That is not a substitute for a benchmark comparison. The available specifications do not establish how the phones compare in gaming, sustained workloads, heat, or everyday responsiveness.

What is the price difference?
A like-for-like price difference cannot be calculated from the available regional examples. Xiaomi Japan’s 2026 launch page lists the 12GB+256GB Xiaomi 17T at ¥84,980 before tax, in a campaign context running from 28 May through 21 July 2026. TechRadar’s roundup dated 17 July 2026 gives the POCO X8 Pro Max a starting reference of $469/£469. These are different currencies, markets, tax treatments, storage-price contexts, and source types—not two current local quotes to subtract.
For a useful comparison, check prices in your country for the same storage tier and compare the final amount, including tax, delivery, warranty, and seller. Prices, promotions, and availability can change; the cited figures do not establish a current offer in every market. TechRadar also notes geographic availability limitations, including US caveats, in its July 2026 Xiaomi and POCO roundup.

What should buyers check before ordering?
- Local price and storage: Match 12GB+256GB with 12GB+256GB, or 12GB+512GB with the same tier, before judging value.
- Network compatibility: Xiaomi and POCO list network bands, but support can vary by region, carrier, and local variant. Xiaomi also says eSIM availability varies by country or region and carrier. Check the exact model against your carrier’s requirements.
- Charger in the box: Xiaomi says the 17T package does not include a power adapter and recommends a Xiaomi 67W-or-higher adapter. POCO says buyers should check adapter availability with the local seller; its package contents can vary by region. Confirm a charger’s supported charging protocols rather than assuming any high-wattage USB-C adapter will deliver the advertised rate.
- Water-resistance limits: Xiaomi describes its IP68 test as static fresh water to 1.5m for up to 30 minutes, subject to additional conditions. It warns that the test is not assurance against ordinary exposure and that resistance may decline through wear, damage, or repair. POCO lists IP68, but an IP rating should not be treated as a promise that either phone is waterproof.
Which should you choose?
Choose the POCO X8 Pro Max if a larger screen, higher stated battery capacity, and higher stated charging wattage are your priorities. Choose the Xiaomi 17T if you prefer a lighter, smaller phone or want a dedicated stabilized telephoto camera. For price, make the decision using current local offers for matching storage; the regional examples above do not support a universal winner.
