Xiaomi 15 is the newer generation, with a newer chipset and a larger battery capacity that Xiaomi itself advertises. Xiaomi 14 is still a capable compact flagship, and whether the newer phone is worth paying more for depends on the local price today, not on the launch-day gap. This guide sets out the specifications that are documented, what each one does and does not prove, and how to run a fair price comparison in your own market.
The short answer
Choose Xiaomi 15 if the price premium in your market is small and you value the newer processor generation and the larger advertised battery. Choose Xiaomi 14 if it is clearly cheaper at the same storage capacity and the older platform meets your needs. Xiaomi’s launch-period pricing does not tell you what either phone costs today, so the decision rests on a like-for-like local comparison.

Processor: a generation apart on paper
Xiaomi 14 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Xiaomi 15 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which Xiaomi’s global product page describes as a 3 nm platform. The model names establish that Xiaomi 15 is the newer generation. They do not establish how much faster it is in daily use. No independent benchmark results were gathered for this comparison, so any percentage speed gain would be unsupported. Expect the newer chip to hold a generational advantage in demanding tasks such as gaming and sustained performance, but treat that as an expectation to verify with reviews that test both phones under identical conditions.

Battery capacity
Xiaomi lists Xiaomi 14 at 4610 mAh (typical) and Xiaomi 15 at 5240 mAh (typical). Xiaomi’s 2025 product-page comparison states that Xiaomi 15 has 630 mAh more capacity. That figure comes from Xiaomi’s own internal labs and is not an independent measurement. Capacity is one input into endurance; screen size, brightness, software, and network use shape how long a charge actually lasts.

Advertised playback time
Xiaomi’s global product page for Xiaomi 15 claims up to 25 hours of video playback. This is also an internal-lab claim. Test conditions such as brightness, codec, and playback app are not reproduced in the sources, so the figure is best read as a marketing ceiling rather than a typical result.
Wired and wireless charging
Both phones are listed with 90 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 14 figures come from Xiaomi’s Spain specifications page, and the Xiaomi 15 figures come from the global product page. Xiaomi Spain’s page for Xiaomi 14 states: “Los cargadores inalámbricos se venden por separado.” In English: “Wireless chargers are sold separately.” Check whether a charger is in the box in your market, because bundles differ. If you buy a third-party wireless charger, do not assume it will reach Xiaomi’s stated 50 W wireless rate; confirm the charger’s own rating and compatibility with the exact phone.

Xiaomi 14 is listed on Xiaomi’s official Spain specifications page as having a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display with adaptive refresh from 1 to 120 Hz. For Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi markets upgraded high brightness, but the sources used here did not establish a complete regional specification sheet. Before making a numeric comparison of screen size, resolution, or peak brightness, open the full specification page for the market where you plan to buy.

Xiaomi 14’s Spain specifications list three 50 MP rear cameras with Leica-branded optics. Xiaomi describes the Xiaomi 15 imaging system as Leica-branded and providing optical-level coverage from 14 mm to 120 mm. Focal-range coverage is useful for comparing how far each phone can zoom optically, but it does not show which phone produces better photographs in a given scene. Judge image quality from side-by-side sample shots, not from module counts or focal lengths.

The price difference: what is and is not known
There is no single, current price gap between Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 15 that applies everywhere. Prices vary by country, storage tier, seller, promotion, and warranty terms.
The only attributable price statement is from Xiaomi’s corporate reporting in late 2024. Xiaomi said the Xiaomi 15 Series had a higher starting price than the Xiaomi 14 Series at launch, and it also noted that the Xiaomi 15 Series reached one million units in sales faster than the previous generation. That statement is about launch pricing; no specific amount was given, and it says nothing about street prices in 2026. Because the two phones launched roughly a year apart, the gap you see today will reflect retailer discounting, stock levels, and any new Xiaomi models that may have since launched.

How to run a fair local price comparison
- Confirm the exact model and configuration you want, including RAM and storage. A 256 GB model and a 512 GB model are not comparable.
- Compare only the same market and regional version. A price in one country does not apply to another.
- Check the seller type. An authorized retailer, an official Xiaomi store, and a grey-import listing may offer very different warranty coverage for the same phone.
- Confirm the warranty terms for your country, including whether the local warranty covers the unit you are buying.
- Note whether the price includes a promotion or a bundled accessory, and record the date you checked. Promotional prices can end quickly.
- Verify what is in the box, including whether a charger is included.

Buyer guidance
- Choose Xiaomi 15 if the local premium over Xiaomi 14 at the same storage tier is one you are willing to pay, and you want the newer chipset generation, the larger advertised battery, and the brighter display Xiaomi describes.
- Choose Xiaomi 14 if it is substantially cheaper at the same storage and regional version, and you are comfortable with its older platform and camera feature set.
- Do not buy on a remembered price. Check the price, seller, and warranty on the day you purchase.
