The Worx Landroid Vision Cloud WR310.1 can handle routine mowing without a perimeter wire, but it does not eliminate all lawn work. It still needs a powered charging base and Wi-Fi, may leave edges for a string trimmer, and its camera-based obstacle avoidance is not foolproof. For a lawn within its stated capacity and terrain limits, it can reduce the frequency of manual mowing—not make lawn care fully hands-off.
What the Worx Landroid Vision Cloud is
The US-listed WR310.1 is a two-wheel-drive robotic mower rated by Worx for lawns up to 1/4 acre. It uses RTK Cloud navigation, a stereo camera and V-SLAM, rather than a perimeter wire. The product page lists a 20 V, 4 Ah lithium-ion battery, an 80-minute charge time, an 8.7-inch cutting width, three blades and an adjustable cutting height of 1.57 to 3.54 inches. It also lists Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. These specifications apply to the WR310.1 as listed for the US; capacity tiers and regional models may differ. Worx’s US product page

Worx also advertises app-based zones and schedules, weather-adaptive scheduling, PowerShare battery compatibility and lifetime-free RTK Cloud service. Those are manufacturer-stated features; “lifetime-free” refers to the stated RTK Cloud service, not to connectivity or other services generally.
Does it really mean no more manual mowing?
No perimeter wire makes installation simpler, and the mower can take over recurring cutting once it is mapped and scheduled. But “no more manual mowing” overstates what the evidence supports. The mower still requires setup and maintenance, and a hands-on reviewer used a string trimmer to tidy some edges. It is better understood as a way to reduce routine mowing and edging, not eliminate all manual lawn care.
#1 Best Overall
- Centimeter-level RTK Cloud Accuracy: Vision Cloud robot lawn mower uses commercial-grade RTK technology delivered straight from the cloud—no local antenna installation required and, above all, without additional cloud costs!
- Built for Extreme Terrain, Landscape-Friendly by Design: Vision Cloud 4WD robot mower delivers confident traction on steep slopes up to 84% (~40°). Its terrain-adaptive chassis keeps all four wheels planted over uneven ground, raised borders, and transitions, while true front-wheel steering delivers smooth, precise turns without tearing turf.
- Auto Mapping that Covers More: Vision AI enables this robot mower to understand any lawn shape and boundary types, automatically mapping your yard with smooth paths, closer edge-following, and fuller coverage from day one.
- AI Obstacle Avoidance: Vision AI not only recognizes objects, but understands them. Powered by a well-trained neural network and processing power up to 10 trillion operations per second, WORX lawn mower robot responds intelligently to keep mowing smooth, safe, and uninterrupted.
- Infinite Zone Mowing & App Remote Control: Manage unlimited mowing zones with custom pathways, define no-go areas, edit your map, and monitor your remote control lawn mower anytime—all under control at your fingertips.
Setup still has requirements
Worx says the mower does not need a boundary wire, beacon, antenna or separate positioning base station. Its UK FAQ describes automatic mapping through V-SLAM, with a virtual map stored in the app for managing zones, schedules, cutting settings and status. The charging base still needs outdoor power, and Worx says stable Wi-Fi coverage is needed at that location. Worx UK’s Vision Cloud FAQ
Edges and obstacles remain practical limits
In a several-week test, Tom’s Guide found the mower avoided tennis balls, jump ropes and toys, but it drove over a dog bone and the blades struck it. The reviewer also had to tidy some lawn edges with a string trimmer. Clear the lawn before mowing and do not treat camera-based recognition as a guarantee that objects will be detected or avoided. How well does the WR310 handle slopes?
Worx publishes a maximum slope of 30% (17°) for the WR310 2WD. That rating is not a promise of identical performance on every lawn: grade, traction, turning room and ground conditions can all affect how a mower negotiates a slope.
Tom’s Guide reported that its test mower struggled to turn and climb on steep outer portions of a yard described as about 20–30°, while it performed better in a flatter back yard and managed the reviewer’s 17° ramp test. The reviewer says Worx offers a 4WD mower for steeper grades. These are observations from that review, not a universal performance test across lawns.

What the hands-on review found
Tom’s Guide found setup and initial mapping easy, and liked that the mower could cut in patterns before trimming edges. The review also reported inconsistent object recognition and grass and pollen collecting around recesses in the mower’s body. Its 4 Ah battery could require multiple passes on larger lawns; one battery observation followed mowing a 0.02-acre test lawn, so it should not be treated as a general runtime figure.
Who should consider the WR310.1?
Start with the WR310.1’s published limit of up to 1/4 acre, then assess the lawn itself rather than relying on area alone. A suitable yard needs a practical location for the charging base, outdoor power and Wi-Fi there, as well as terrain within the mower’s capabilities. Consider obstacles and lawn-edge geometry, too: the robot may not replace all trimming.

- Area: Check that the exact regional model is rated for your lawn’s size.
- Terrain: Compare the yard’s slopes and surface conditions with the WR310 2WD’s published 30% (17°) limit.
- Connectivity and power: Confirm Wi-Fi reaches the charging base and that an outdoor outlet is available.
- Edges and objects: Decide whether occasional manual trimming and clearing the lawn are acceptable.
If comparing a two-wheel-drive model with a four-wheel-drive option, weigh traction and supported lawn area against your actual terrain; a higher-drive configuration is not automatically necessary for every yard. Prices change, and the available evidence does not establish a quantified payback period against a conventional mower.

Expect routine cleaning and eventual blade service rather than a maintenance-free machine. A Worx manual available for the earlier Landroid Vision WR235—not confirmed as the WR310 Cloud manual—says to switch off the mower and remove its battery before blade service, replace all blades together, use new screws and wear protective gloves. It also says that model’s blades may last up to two months when programmed to mow daily.
