The Withings BodyScan 2 is worth considering if you will regularly use its six-zone body-composition readings and cardiovascular tools—not if you mainly want to track weight. Its retractable handle and longer full scan set it apart from basic smart scales, but the $599.95 US launch price and some Withings+ features make it a costly choice. Medical features also vary by country.
What makes the BodyScan 2 different?
Unlike a scale that reports weight and a single body-fat estimate, the BodyScan 2 is designed to measure body composition across six zones, including segmental fat and muscle mass. It also offers cardiovascular insights and a six-lead ECG with AFib detection where supported. A retractable handle contains touch-sensor electrodes, and a built-in 3.5-inch color display shows information during use.

Withings lists compatibility with Apple Health, Google Health Connect, and Google Fit on its US product listing. The experience is centered on the Withings app, and some additional in-app features are tied to Withings+.
How long does a scan take?
Withings Support describes two routines. Daily Scan is a shorter routine focused on selected metrics; Longevity Scan is the more comprehensive option and typically takes around two minutes. For the full scan, Withings says to stand still and hold the handle with both hands. Actual duration and available measurements can depend on the active configuration and country. Tom’s Guide reported an approximately 90-second experience in its review, which is a separate publisher’s account rather than a guaranteed scan time.

How reliable are its body-composition readings?
Withings says its internal comparison with DEXA showed 99% correlation for fat-mass results. That is a company-reported comparison, limited to fat mass; it is not independent validation and does not mean every measurement matches DEXA. The claim also does not establish that the scale is suitable for diagnosing or monitoring a medical condition.
As with other consumer body-composition devices, treat the readings as estimates and consider trends alongside other information, rather than interpreting one reading as a definitive health result. The BodyScan 2 presents measurements and health insights; it does not replace professional medical care.

Which health features are available in your country?
ECG, AFib detection, and other medical features are subject to regional authorization and availability. Withings says its medical features have CE certification dated April 14, 2026, but that does not mean every feature is available in every market. The company has also flagged blood-pressure notification features that were not authorized or active at launch in certain countries. Check the feature list for your country before buying, especially if a particular medical function is central to your decision.

What does it cost, and what is included?
Withings announced US availability on July 15, 2026, at $599.95. That is the announced US price at launch, not a current checkout quote or an international price. TechRadar’s September 2026 review listed £449.95 in the UK and $895 in Australia; confirm current local pricing before purchase.

Withings’ product materials state a standard two-year warranty. Withings+ unlocks additional app features, but subscription prices, included features, and any trial terms can change; check the terms offered in your market. TechRadar characterized the scale as very expensive, and Tom’s Guide discussed Withings+ features in its review. Those are the publications’ assessments, not a substitute for checking current subscription details.

It may suit you if
- You expect to use segmental fat and muscle readings as part of regular tracking.
- You want a connected scale with a broader set of cardiovascular tools, and the relevant features are authorized and available where you live.
- You are comfortable using the Withings app and evaluating whether Withings+ features justify any recurring subscription cost.
Look elsewhere if
- Your main need is weight tracking or an occasional basic body-composition estimate; the BodyScan 2’s extra sensors and app features may not justify its premium price.
- You want a quick weigh-in rather than a longer, handle-based full scan.
- You are buying for a specific medical feature but cannot confirm that it is supported in your country.
Before choosing, compare the price, measurements available, scan time, subscription requirements, integrations, and regional support for medical features. Do not assume a less expensive scale provides clinically equivalent measurements.
