If wireless earbuds won’t connect, start by charging and reseating both buds, then make sure Bluetooth is on and put the earbuds into pairing mode using the instructions for their exact model. If they were paired before, remove the saved connection and pair them again. Work through simpler checks before resetting the earbuds, since a reset can erase settings.
First check: are the earbuds charged and seated correctly?
Place both earbuds in their case and confirm that each sits properly on its charging contacts. Check that the case has power, and clean dirty contacts gently according to the manufacturer’s care instructions. If the buds or case are not charging, a compatible cable or adapter may help; match the connector and power requirements to your exact case.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds troubleshooting guidance recommends charging the earbuds for at least 30 minutes. That is Samsung’s instruction for its products, not a universal charging requirement for every brand or model. Samsung Galaxy Buds troubleshooting

- Turn Bluetooth on for the device you want to use, and keep it close to the earbuds while pairing.
- Open the device’s Bluetooth settings and look for the earbuds in the available-device list.
- If they appear, select them and test audio with the device’s volume raised.
If the earbuds are absent from the list, they may not be in pairing mode. If they appear but will not connect, a saved pairing may be stale; remove it and pair again.

Put the earbuds into pairing mode
Pairing mode makes earbuds discoverable. The control differs by model, so use the instructions for the exact generation rather than assuming every case has the same button or gesture. Samsung states: “If the Bluetooth device is not in pairing mode, your Galaxy device will not be able to detect or connect to it.” Samsung Support: Bluetooth device will not connect to Samsung Galaxy device
Apple AirPods
Apple’s support instructions, published September 24, 2026, say to update the iPhone, iPad, or Mac, confirm both AirPods are charging, verify Bluetooth is on, and select the AirPods if they are listed. If they still do not connect, return them to the case and wait 15 seconds before entering pairing mode. The pairing control depends on the AirPods model: Apple documents a case-front double-tap for specified newer models and a rear setup button for other models. Follow the steps shown for your AirPods. Then put the earbuds into pairing mode and add them as a new device. The exact label varies by platform. Google includes forgetting the saved Pixel Buds device in its pairing instructions, and Samsung recommends removing a previous saved connection when troubleshooting Galaxy devices. Use a model-specific reset only if pairing still fails
Resetting is a later step, not the first one to try. Follow the manufacturer’s current reset instructions for the exact generation, because the procedure and effects differ. A reset may erase saved preferences: Google says a Pixel Buds reset clears the device name and preferences; on Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a, it also resets Find Hub locating functionality. Bluetooth earbuds not showing up? Check interference and test another device
Move away from nearby devices that may interfere with Bluetooth, such as a running microwave or Wi-Fi router, and try pairing again. Google and Samsung both include interference checks in their connectivity guidance. Google Pixel Buds: Fix connection issues · Samsung Galaxy Buds troubleshooting
As a practical diagnostic check, try the earbuds with another compatible phone, tablet, or computer. If they connect there, focus on the Bluetooth settings or saved pairing on the original device. If they still fail on multiple devices after correct charging and a model-specific reset, contact the earbud manufacturer. This comparison can narrow down the problem, but it is not a universal hardware-failure test.
When to contact support
Contact the manufacturer if the earbuds will not pair with multiple compatible devices after the model-specific steps, or if one or both buds fail to charge or connect. Samsung says a connection failure involving one or both Galaxy Buds may require service and recommends contacting Samsung Support or visiting a service center. Samsung Galaxy Buds troubleshooting
