To keep a Wirecast media playlist playing, set the playlist’s end behavior to Loop. If the final playlist item is a video clip and it still stops at its endpoint, set that clip’s Source Properties → When Finished option to Loop too. These are separate controls: one restarts the playlist, while the other repeats an individual clip.
Set the playlist to start over after its last shot

Select the playlist shot and open its playlist behavior control.

Choose Loop. Telestream’s Wirecast 16.3 Users Guide for Windows describes this as transitioning back to the first shot endlessly. The playlist should now return to its first shot after reaching its last one.

This setting controls the whole playlist. It does not necessarily make the final video clip repeat at its own endpoint.

If the last video still stops, loop the clip itself

Select the final video clip or its source.

Open Source Properties and find When Finished.

Set When Finished to Loop.
Use both settings when you want the playlist to return to its first shot and the final clip to repeat if it reaches its endpoint before the playlist advances. The playlist setting governs the sequence; the source setting governs that video’s playback endpoint.
Choose Hold only when you want playback to stop on the last frame
Hold has a different purpose from Loop. At the playlist level, it leaves the playlist on its last shot. For a final video clip to remain on its last frame, set the playlist behavior to Hold and set that clip’s Source Properties → When Finished behavior to Hold as well. Applying Hold at only one level may not give the intended result because the two controls govern different scopes.

If the settings are correct but playback still misbehaves

Confirm which control you changed. Playlist Loop restarts the sequence; clip-level When Finished Loop repeats the video source. Check the final clip’s source setting if the playlist is configured correctly but that clip stops.

Review release notes if a media file still holds or loops unexpectedly. Wirecast 16.4.1, dated March 14, 2025, lists a fix for media-file hold behavior and a fix for an issue involving a single black frame during a media-file loop or transition between different media files. That does not establish the cause of any individual playback problem, but it makes the installed version worth checking.
