Windows Super God Mode 1.2.3, released June 2, 2026, improves how the tool matches some Windows Settings links, handles quoted icon paths, and works with PowerShell ISE. It also warns users to leave the PowerShell window open while its graphical interface runs. The update is useful, but modest: Super God Mode is a PowerShell shortcut generator, not a secret Windows mode or a tool that changes settings for you.
What changed in Windows Super God Mode 1.2.3?
Version 1.2.3 is the latest release listed on the project’s GitHub Releases page as of August 18, 2026. Its changes focus on link discovery and script behavior rather than adding a new Windows feature.
- More reliable
ms-settings:matching: The release improves matching for setting-link names with capital letters, numbers, and longer identifiers. The release notes cite examples such asa9,dateandtime-showClockInNotificationCenter, andpersonalization-background-promptUserToEnableDesktopSpotlight. Better matching can prevent missing or incorrectly named shortcuts when the setting exists. - Improved quoted icon paths: The script handles quotes in icon paths more correctly. The project also says this resolves a code-highlighting issue in Notepad++; it is a correctness fix, not a new Windows capability.
- A warning about the console: If the GUI opens alongside a PowerShell window, do not close the console while the script is running. The two are part of the same execution flow, and ending the console early may interrupt the operation.
- Better PowerShell ISE support: Compatibility with PowerShell ISE has improved, though ISE is not required; the project also documents running the script from PowerShell or Windows Terminal.
These changes are described in the 1.2.3 release notes.
How it fits with the 1.2 branch
Several broader improvements arrived in version 1.2, not specifically in 1.2.3. The branch added GUI choices for Standard, Verbose, and Debug logging; improved error handling and progress reporting; and made hidden-link scanning more efficient by adding exclusions and a file-size limit described in the release notes as 70% of available RAM. It also added debugging controls for AppX and protocol searches, fixed shortcuts with spaces in target paths, and made deep-link failures more robust. Treat these as cumulative 1.2-branch features, rather than new features unique to this patch.

What Windows Super God Mode actually does
Traditional Windows “God Mode” is a specially named folder that collects many Control Panel tasks. Super God Mode extends that idea: it runs a PowerShell script to discover and organize shortcuts to Windows shell folders, Control Panel tasks, ms-settings: pages, deep links, URL protocols, and some hidden application links. The project describes it as not really a mode: running it creates shortcuts and does not change Windows settings by itself. See the official project page for its description and implementation.
Depending on the options selected, it can also produce CSV information about shortcuts and save XML data retrieved from Windows components for reference. Its output is a folder-based catalog, not a replacement Settings app, Windows shell, registry hack, optimizer, or feature-unlocking tool.

How to download and run it
The project is a public GitHub repository, implemented as a PowerShell script with an optional batch launcher, and lists a GPL-3.0 license. Download the script from the official repository or its Releases page; avoid third-party repackaged downloads.
- Download
Super_God_Mode.ps1from the official project. - If you want a launcher, download
SuperGodMode-EasyLauncher.batand place it in the same folder as the script. - Run the batch launcher, or open PowerShell/Windows Terminal in the script’s folder and run the command below.
- If the GUI opens with a PowerShell console, leave the console open until the operation has finished.
powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File ".Super_God_Mode.ps1"
With no parameters, the documented command opens the GUI. powershell.exe starts Windows PowerShell, -File identifies the script, and -ExecutionPolicy Bypass lets this process run it without changing the user’s permanent execution-policy setting. That switch is not a guarantee that a script is safe. Get the file from the official project, check the repository owner and release tag, and review the script if you are comfortable doing so. The repository says release versions are signed with an EV code-signing certificate; verify the signature on the specific file you downloaded rather than assuming an unofficial copy is authentic.

Links vary by Windows installation
The available settings pages, optional components, and installed applications differ across Windows builds and editions. A link may be absent, renamed, redirected, or unsupported on a particular system; identical output is not guaranteed across Windows 10 and 11, Home, Pro or Enterprise, ARM or IoT variants, or installations with optional components removed. The project itself warns that some shortcuts may not work on every Windows version. Microsoft’s known folders documentation explains one category of Windows shell locations, but does not make every generated link universal.

Some targets can go stale
A shortcut can fail if its setting is not present on the current build, its target application is missing, a third-party protocol belongs to software that has since been removed, or an undocumented deep link changes after an app update. Version 1.2.3 addresses matching and quote-handling problems; it does not guarantee that every undocumented link will remain usable.
Deeper scans can take time
Hidden-link discovery can inspect application files. More exhaustive scans may be slow and generate substantial output, especially on systems with large software collections. The 1.2 branch’s exclusions and file-size limits reduce unnecessary work, but it is sensible to enable deep scanning only when you need it.
Who should use it?
- A good fit: Windows enthusiasts, administrators, and troubleshooters who regularly need obscure settings or shell locations and want a searchable catalog of system and application links.
- Probably unnecessary: People who only need a few settings shortcuts, expect every link to work across all Windows systems, want settings changed automatically, or are not comfortable running PowerShell scripts.
The central trade-off is breadth versus clutter and variability: a broad catalog can include duplicates, obsolete entries, or links specific to the system where it was generated.
Quick Recap
What are the alternatives?
- Windows Search, Settings search, Control Panel, and pinned shortcuts: Better for occasional access to a small number of familiar destinations, without generating a large catalog.
- Traditional God Mode folder: A simpler way to gather many Control Panel tasks, but it does not aim for the same coverage of deep links, URL protocols, and hidden application links.
- Microsoft PowerToys: A maintained Microsoft utility suite for productivity and shell enhancements. It is useful for a different set of power-user needs, not a feature-for-feature substitute for Super God Mode’s shortcut discovery. See Microsoft’s PowerToys page.
