Microsoft described it as improving existing feature areas and said it included previous cumulative updates for version 21H2. Its reported fixes are tied to specific updates and affected configurations; they do not mean every Windows 10 problem was resolved. Standard support for most Windows 10 editions ended on October 14, 2025, though LTSC lifecycles and eligible devices enrolled in Extended Security Updates (ESU) differ.
What was new in Windows 10 22H2?
Microsoft characterized 22H2 as “a scoped release focused on quality improvements to the overall Windows experience in existing feature areas.” The official overview does not enumerate a broad set of headline consumer-facing features, so it is more accurate to understand 22H2 as a servicing release that accumulated quality changes than as a redesign or major feature package. It also includes previous cumulative updates released for Windows 10 version 21H2. Microsoft’s Windows 10 22H2 overview describes the release scope.

Eligible devices running earlier supported versions of Windows 10 could move to 22H2 using an enablement package, rather than reinstalling the operating system as a full feature upgrade. Eligibility depended on the device’s existing version and update state; the package was not a route to support beyond the lifecycle of the installed edition. Microsoft’s release overview explains the delivery approach.
Which Windows 10 22H2 issues did Microsoft mark fixed?
Microsoft’s release-health tracker records issues by affected configuration and resolution update. A fix means Microsoft lists that particular issue as resolved by the named update; it is not a guarantee that all devices, or all symptoms that sound similar, are fixed. The live tracker can change as Microsoft publishes new information.
#1 Best Overall
Shutdown or hibernation failure on some Secure Launch PCs
Microsoft listed a shutdown and hibernation issue affecting some PCs that support Secure Launch when Virtualization-Based Security (VSM) was enabled. The tracker identifies KB5075912, released February 10, 2026, as the resolution. The entry and its configuration details are on Microsoft’s Windows 10 22H2 release-health page.
Remote Desktop Services instability
A separate release-health entry described instability affecting Remote Desktop Services. Microsoft marked the issue resolved by KB5129236, released September 14, 2026. This resolution applies to the issue as Microsoft described it, not necessarily to every Remote Desktop connection problem. Check the release-health entry against the affected device and update.

USB Audio Class 1.0 devices: a mitigated issue
Microsoft also reported that some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices might fail to start or produce no sound after the September 8, 2026 update. The tracker listed the issue as mitigated in a late-September update. “Mitigated” is not the same status as a fully resolved issue; consult the current tracker for Microsoft’s latest instructions and status.

- Confirm the Windows version and build. Open Settings > System > About and check Windows specifications. Windows 10 version 22H2 is build 19045; Microsoft’s Windows release information provides the build and update context.
- Check the installed update. Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history. Compare the KB number and installation date with the release-health entry.
- Match the affected setup and symptom. For example, the shutdown/hibernate entry concerns Secure Launch-capable PCs with VSM enabled. A similar symptom on a different configuration may have another cause.
- Read the current issue status and guidance. Use Microsoft’s Windows 10 22H2 release-health tracker. If a listed resolution update is applicable but the problem continues, follow Microsoft’s troubleshooting guidance for that issue rather than assuming the fix covers every case.
Is Windows 10 22H2 still supported?
For most standard Windows 10 editions, no. Microsoft identifies 22H2 as the final Windows 10 feature version and says support for covered editions ended on October 14, 2025. After that date, standard devices no longer receive regular fixes, time-zone updates, technical support, or monthly security and preview updates. Microsoft’s end-of-support notice sets out the date and edition caveats.

There are two important distinctions. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC releases follow their own product lifecycles, so their support end dates depend on the specific LTSC release. Separately, eligible devices enrolled in Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates program can continue to receive security updates under ESU; that is limited security coverage, not a return to general standard support. See Microsoft’s Windows 10 ESU information and the relevant Home and Pro lifecycle page for applicable coverage. Microsoft’s lifecycle pages show a minor date-display difference: the notice gives October 14, 2025, while the Home and Pro release table displays October 15, 2025 and explains that displayed support dates use Pacific Time.
In Microsoft’s supported-client table, Windows 10 22H2 is identified as build 19045 and standard servicing is marked ended. Microsoft’s release information also records ESU-related updates after standard support ended; an ESU update does not change the standard-support status. The release-information table provides the build and update records.
