Ninja machines differ: a button, warning, or descaling instruction for one series may not apply to another. Use the guide for your exact model, and contact Ninja support if its prescribed checks do not clear the problem.
Find the model number before troubleshooting
Look for the model number on the appliance or in its documentation. Ninja provides separate manuals and troubleshooting resources for families including CF080/CF085, PB045 DualBrew, CFP300-series and DCM200-series machines. Locate the matching guide through Ninja’s owner-guide listings or Ninja support. Do not assume that a control, warning, needle-cleaning method or clean-cycle timing is shared across models.

Check power, water and the brew setup
Confirm power
Make sure the machine is connected to a working outlet and switched on as its manual directs. If it has no display or response, avoid opening the housing or attempting an internal electrical repair; contact Ninja support if the model guide’s basic power checks do not help.
Check the reservoir
Fill the reservoir with enough fresh water for the selected brew, then make sure it is seated correctly. On the PB045 DualBrew, the “Add Wtr” message means there is not enough reservoir water to complete the brew. Add fresh water and press the brew-style button for the interrupted brew to resume. If the reservoir is already full, remove it and press firmly down to reseat it. If the message remains, the DualBrew guide says to contact customer service.

Check removable parts and controls
Confirm that parts the manual requires, such as the brew basket and carafe, are correctly positioned. If your model has a Drip Stop, check that it is set to allow brewing into the vessel. Controls and basket procedures vary: the CF060UK guide says that if its Drip Stop is closed but the brewer continues dripping, run that model’s clean cycle or wash its brew basket thoroughly with warm soapy water. Follow that instruction only if it matches your machine’s guide.
Respond to a clog warning or incomplete brew
For “CLOG” on the PB045 DualBrew
The DualBrew guide associates “CLOG” with coffee grounds around the pod needles or calcium scale. Follow the guide’s sequence: check that the pod was punctured, inspect for visible grounds, and clear them only as directed with the specified flat wire or plastic clip. Then power-cycle the brewer and run a water-only, full-carafe Classic brew. If there are no visible grounds or the warning remains, use the model’s cleaning/descaling procedure. Needle instructions are specific to this design; do not apply them to a different Ninja model without its manual’s approval.

For other warnings or symptoms
Do not map a warning from one series onto another. Look up the exact displayed text in the matching owner’s guide. For an “Er” code followed by a number on the DualBrew, Ninja directs owners to customer service. If the machine beeps but does not brew, use its guide to check the stated controls and setup rather than assuming the beeping has one universal cause.
Descale only by the correct model’s instructions
Scale can affect brewing performance or flavor. For the PB045 DualBrew, Ninja says to use its clean cycle when scale is affecting performance or flavor; the guide permits the stated white-vinegar mixture or a descaling solution formulated specifically for coffee-maker cleaning. Its clean cycle takes roughly 75 minutes, and the guide warns that a water-only clean cycle does not descale the system properly. Afterward, empty and rinse the reservoir, refill it with fresh water, and run a full-carafe water-only brew to flush the machine.

These details are not universal. The CF060UK guide describes an approximately eight-minute clean cycle for that model, rather than the DualBrew’s roughly 75-minute cycle. Check your own guide for the approved descaler or mixture, cycle, and rinse steps before cleaning. A CF080 guide excerpt also identifies substantial scale as a possible reason for continued incomplete brewing or a flashing Clean light after cleaning; because this detail comes from a reproduced guide excerpt rather than a retrieved official attachment, verify it against Ninja’s guide for your exact machine.
Check filters only if your model uses them
Filter setup can matter on models that support a permanent filter, paper filters, or both. The DualBrew guide warns not to use a paper filter together with a permanent filter, because water or coffee can back up and clog the basket. Check the compatibility and setup instructions for your model; changing filters is not a general fix for a machine that will not brew.

- A DualBrew “Add Wtr” message persists after you reseat a full reservoir.
- A DualBrew “Er” code appears.
- The model-prescribed clog checks or cleaning cycle do not restore brewing.
- The machine still will not brew after the guide’s power, water and setup checks, or you suspect an internal electrical or mechanical fault.
Use Ninja support to find model-specific help. Do not open the appliance or attempt an internal repair based on these troubleshooting steps.
