Xfinity may bill you for Netflix because you started the subscription through the Netflix app on an Xfinity device, your Xfinity package or StreamSaver includes Netflix, or you accidentally created a second Netflix subscription. The bill’s section heading is the quickest clue—but check the Netflix account’s email and payment method before canceling anything.
Which Netflix charge is on your Xfinity bill?
There are three common billing arrangements. The Netflix app appearing on an Xfinity device does not, by itself, tell you whether Netflix is included or how it is billed. Compare the bill section with the Netflix account’s payment details.

| Billing arrangement | Where to look on the Xfinity bill | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix billed through Comcast | Other Service Providers; the entry may show the amount due and the date through which service is paid. Applicable taxes and fees may also appear. | Check which Netflix account was activated on the Xfinity device and whether its payment method is Comcast. |
| Netflix included in an Xfinity package | Bundled Services or Regular monthly charges; it may be included in a package charge rather than itemized as a separate Netflix fee. | Check the package details and whether Netflix was activated or an existing account linked through the X1 box. Package availability varies by area. |
| Netflix included through StreamSaver | Alongside Xfinity services, under Add ons or My Xfinity services, depending on the plan. | Confirm the StreamSaver details for your plan; do not treat the bundle charge as proof of a second standalone Netflix subscription. |
Xfinity describes these billing arrangements in its Netflix billing guidance, X1 and Flex guidance, and package FAQs. Your statement and account records—not the general descriptions—establish what happened on your account.
Why the amount may be new or unexpected
A trial or promotion ended
A Comcast-billed Netflix subscription may show as $0.00 during a trial or promotion, then show the current price of the selected plan after that period ends. Check the promotion terms and the latest bill; the cited Xfinity guidance does not establish a stable current plan price.

You may have two Netflix subscriptions
If you already paid Netflix directly and then signed up again through the Netflix app on an X1 or Flex device, the separate subscriptions can coexist. Compare the email addresses and payment methods for the Netflix account with the Xfinity line item before canceling either one. Xfinity specifically warns about this kind of duplicate signup in its billing guidance.
The charge may be part of a package
An Xfinity package or StreamSaver offer may include Netflix, so a charge associated with the offer can appear under a bundle or add-on heading instead of as a standalone Netflix subscription. Included offers vary by area and plan. Check your package details and the bill section before interpreting the amount as an extra Netflix fee.

Your Xfinity service or package changed
Comcast billing for Netflix can continue while you keep at least one Xfinity service and receive a Comcast statement. If you change or cancel a package that included Netflix, billing may transition depending on whether Netflix has a valid prior payment method. Review the Netflix account and the Xfinity statement after a service change. See Xfinity’s guidance on service changes and Netflix’s information about Comcast-billed subscriptions.

How to identify the account and stop an unwanted charge
- Read the bill line. Note the amount, section heading, any service-through date, and whether it is a standalone Netflix entry, part of a package, or tied to StreamSaver. Xfinity describes standalone charges under Other Service Providers and package charges under bundle or monthly-charge sections.
- Check the Netflix account. In Netflix account settings, review the account email, status, plan, and payment method. Compare them with the Netflix account you use on Xfinity. This helps reveal a second subscription or clarify whether Comcast is paying for the account you intended to link.
- Contact the company billing that account. For a Netflix subscription billed by Comcast, contact Xfinity to cancel it. For a separate Netflix-billed account, contact Netflix about cancellation or credits. Netflix also directs customers with Comcast-billed subscriptions to Comcast support.
- Change payment route if you want to keep Netflix. Xfinity says you can move payment from the Comcast bill to a credit or debit card, or another payment option Netflix accepts, through Netflix account support.

When and how to dispute an Xfinity charge
If you do not recognize or did not approve an Xfinity charge, ask Xfinity to review the specific line item. Xfinity says eligible disputes must be submitted within 120 days of when the charge appears on the bill; that is its stated policy deadline, not a general deadline for every Netflix billing issue. The policy says a charge may be disputed if Xfinity cannot confirm that you or another authorized user approved it.
Xfinity lists services not ordered, wrong equipment, and promotions that ended early as examples that may be disputable. Its policy excludes scheduled promotion endings, standard rate increases, taxes, fees, surcharges, and several other categories from this dispute process. Keep relevant confirmations and ask Xfinity to assess the particular charge under its bill dispute policy.
