An HTTP 200 is a successful response at the endpoint; on its own, it does not prove that the intended event appeared in the right data source, contains the expected values, or was deduplicated with a browser event. Check the server request and response, then verify receipt in Events Manager Test Events.
Why Pixel Helper cannot see a CAPI POST
The two event routes begin in different places. A browser Pixel event runs from the visitor’s browser, where Pixel Helper can inspect browser-side activity. A CAPI event is sent directly from the advertiser’s server, so a browser extension cannot observe that independent server-to-server request just because it can inspect Pixel activity. Meta’s archived API specification describes server events as events sent from advertiser servers.

What an HTTP 200 does—and does not—tell you
The archived API specification documents HTTP 200 as a successful operation response. That status answers a narrower question than whether your whole tracking setup is correct. It does not, by itself, establish that the intended event is visible in the expected data source, that its payload has the required values, or that Meta will recognize it as a duplicate of the corresponding browser event.

How to verify a server event
- Inspect browser events separately. Use Pixel Helper and browser developer tools to check browser Pixel events and their firing conditions. Do not treat the extension as evidence about your server’s outbound CAPI request.
- Check the server’s actual POST. In application logs or a request inspector, verify that your application sent a POST to the intended pixel’s
/eventsendpoint and used the intended API version. Inspect the payload, not just the status line. - Read the response body. Confirm that the response belongs to the request you meant to send, and retain any event receipt counts or error details it contains.
- Test receipt in Events Manager. During testing, include
test_event_codeand open Test Events for the corresponding data source in Events Manager. Check that the expected event appears and inspect the parameters Meta received. The archived specification documents this test workflow; confirm current interface labels in Meta’s live documentation.
Check the payload and event identity
The archived API schema lists event_name, event_time, user_data, and action_source as required event fields. Because that repository is archived and refers to an older Graph API version, treat the list as schema evidence—not as a guarantee of current requirements. Confirm the required fields for the API version you are implementing in Meta’s current documentation.
If the same user action is sent through both browser Pixel and CAPI, align the event name and use a shared identity: the browser’s eventID should match the server’s event_id. Meta’s Conversions API Direct Integration Playbook recommends matching event_name and event_id for deduplication. The playbook describes a 48-hour window, but it is older; verify the current operational timing in Meta documentation before relying on that figure.

If the response is 200 but the event is missing
Use the server logs and Test Events together to narrow down the issue. Check that the request targeted the intended data source, that the test code was included when testing, and that the payload and event time are valid for the API version in use. If browser and server routes both send the action, compare their event names and IDs. The archived sources document the test workflow and schema, but do not establish that every 200 guarantees downstream processing in every situation.
