India is on YouTube’s list of locations where Super Chat and Super Stickers are available, so country support alone does not explain a missing purchase button. Whether it appears also depends on the creator’s eligibility, the video’s settings and restrictions, and whether live chat is visible and enabled.
Where viewers should find the Super Chat button
YouTube’s computer instructions say to look for the dollar-sign control in the live chat. If live chat is hidden or unavailable, the purchase entry point may not be visible. Check the stream or Premiere while its live chat is open. YouTube’s instructions for buying a Super Chat or Super Sticker on a computer describe this entry point.

Check the video and chat settings
YouTube lists several video types and chat configurations for which Supers are unavailable. A missing button on one stream can therefore be a video-level issue even when the viewer is in a supported country.

- The video is unlisted or private.
- The video is marked Made for Kids.

These exclusions are described in YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility, availability and policies.

Check creator eligibility and setup
Country availability for viewers is only one part of the picture. YouTube also requires creators to meet its fan-funding requirements, live in a location where the feature is available, and accept and comply with the relevant terms and product module. A creator who does not meet those conditions may not have Supers enabled for a stream.
YouTube says eligible creators can access Supers and see a Supers tab or card in the Earn area of YouTube Studio. The eligibility overview is in YouTube’s Supers policy page and its overview of ways to earn money on YouTube.

What to check, in order
- Open the live chat. On a computer, look for the dollar-sign purchase control while live chat is visible.
- Check the video. Determine whether it is age-restricted, unlisted, private, marked Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser.
- Check chat availability. Confirm that live chat or comments have not been turned off.
- Ask the creator to check eligibility. If the video and chat appear eligible, the creator should check fan-funding eligibility and Supers setup in YouTube Studio’s Earn area.
The general help pages explain feature rules; they do not diagnose the account or stream behind an individual missing-button report. Without checking that viewer’s account and the specific stream, it is not possible to identify a particular account, payment-method, device, or regional restriction as the cause.

Does Android billing hide the button?
YouTube notes that some new purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play, with no change to the price or cost. That is a billing detail after a viewer selects a purchase, not an explanation for why the purchase control is missing. YouTube’s Android monetization help page covers that billing note.

Other ways to support a creator
YouTube also describes Super Thanks and channel memberships as fan-support options. Each has separate requirements, so neither is guaranteed to appear for the same creator or content when Super Chat is unavailable. Check the creator’s channel and the options YouTube shows for that specific video or channel.
