If your Snapchat score is not changing, Snapchat does not publish enough detail to identify the cause from the score alone. It says Snapscore combines Snaps sent and received, Stories posted, and other undisclosed factors—but gives no per-action point values or required refresh time. Try the app, device, and connection checks below; they can address display problems, but they cannot confirm why a particular score looks unchanged.
What makes a Snapchat score go up?
Snapchat Support says a Snapscore combines the number of Snaps you have sent and received, the Stories you have posted, and “a couple other factors.” The score appears below your name on your Profile screen. Snapchat does not publish the full equation or say exactly how many points any action earns. See Snapchat’s explanation of Snapscore.

That means an unchanged score does not, by itself, tell you what happened. Snapchat does not specify how quickly scores should refresh or provide account-specific explanations for a score that appears stuck. It also does not say that text chats, viewing Stories, maintaining a streak, or hitting a daily activity quota guarantees an increase. Treat unofficial point charts and score calculators as unverified, not as Snapchat’s rules.
How to troubleshoot a score that looks stuck
Work through these checks in order. Snapchat recommends them for app features that are not loading, responding, or displaying correctly; they are general troubleshooting steps, not a confirmed Snapscore-specific fix. Snapchat’s app troubleshooting guidance covers the basic checks.
#1 Best Overall
- Universal unlocked. Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and other prepaid carriers.
- Super-bright, super-smooth 6.7" display. See your screen clearly even outdoors in sunlight, and enjoy seamless views with a fast-refreshing 120Hz display.*
- AI-powered camera system. Take stunning photos in any light with the 50MP camera**, look your best with a 32MP selfie cam*****, and capture extreme close-ups.
- Superfast 5G performance. Unleash your entertainment at 5G speed*** with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM with RAM Boost****.
- Long-lasting battery + TurboPower charging. Power through day after day with a 5200mAh battery, then get hours of power in just minutes.****
- Check the Profile screen. Open your Profile and look below your name, where Snapchat says your score is displayed.
- Update and reopen Snapchat. Install any available update from your device’s app store, then fully close and reopen the app.
- Restart your phone and check the connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see whether the score display loads normally.
- Clear Snapchat’s cache. Use the instructions for your device in Snapchat’s cache-clearing guide. Snapchat says clearing the cache will not delete Memories, Snaps, or Chats; the settings path differs between iOS and Android.
- Report the problem if it persists. In Snapchat, go to Settings > Support and Safety > Bugs and Suggestions > Report a Bug. Snapchat says reports help it investigate issues, though it may not respond to every report.
These steps may help if the app is displaying incorrectly, but the available guidance does not establish that a display fault is the cause of your unchanged score. Snapchat’s general troubleshooting pages do not recommend logging out or uninstalling the app as initial fixes for this score question.
Does Snapchat+ fix a score that is not going up?
No. Snapchat+ has an optional Snapscore multiplier, but Snapchat does not describe it as a way to refresh a stuck score or repair a display problem. Snapchat says eligible subscribers can increase their score twice as fast when they send a Snap to, or receive one from, another Snapchat+ subscriber. The multiplier is off by default. Read Snapchat’s instructions for the Snapscore multiplier.

- Do not use text chats, Story views, streaks, or a supposed daily quota as guaranteed ways to raise your score.
- Avoid third-party score-boosting services and never give anyone your Snapchat password.
