Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →A slow YouTube upload on JioFiber can come from a large video file, limited or unstable upload bandwidth, busy-hour network traffic, or a local Wi-Fi, router, or device problem. First clarify whether you are uploading a finished video or sending a live stream: they are different workflows, and the usual upload checks below apply to finished files. The available information cannot identify the cause on an individual connection or establish that Jio throttles YouTube.
First, identify which kind of “upload” is slow
Uploading a finished video
A finished-file upload sends a video from your device to YouTube. Its duration depends on the file size, internet bandwidth, format, and quality. A 4K file will generally take longer than a comparable 1080p file because it contains more data. YouTube also warns that slow or unstable internet is a common cause of slow uploads and that peak-hour upload traffic at an ISP can add time. See YouTube’s upload troubleshooting guidance.

Sending a live stream
A live stream sends a continuing audio-video feed rather than uploading one finished file. YouTube’s cited upload help concerns finished videos and does not diagnose a live-stream problem. If you mean a live stream, record the streaming app’s connection and bitrate symptoms and test the connection as described below, but do not assume that file-upload behavior identifies the cause of a live-stream interruption.

Check upload speed, not just download speed. Jio’s NetVelocity guidance reports upload and download speed as well as network quality and latency; it describes using the tool on a Jio Set Top Box. TRAI’s MySpeed web tester also measures upload speed and latency. Try more than one measurement and record the time and whether you were on Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
#1 Best Overall
- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Compare the measurements with the typical upload speed stated for your own JioFiber tariff. Do not use a supposed universal minimum as the benchmark: TRAI says it does not prescribe a minimum upload or download speed. Its requirement is that at least 90% of measured samples meet or exceed the provider’s declared typical speed; that is a testing requirement, not a guarantee that every test or moment will reach that speed. See the TRAI Broadband FAQ.
Jio does not establish a single expected JioFiber upload speed in the cited pages, so check the current speed information for your specific plan rather than relying on a generic number.

Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet
Run a test near the router, then repeat over a wired LAN connection if possible. Jio itself suggests comparing Wi-Fi and LAN when measured speeds seem low; its speed-measurement help also suggests restarting the router.
- Ethernet is consistently faster: this points toward a local Wi-Fi coverage or interference issue as a troubleshooting inference, not a confirmed diagnosis. Test near the router and consider whether walls or distance are weakening the signal.
- Wi-Fi and Ethernet are both slow: check for household uploads or heavy use during the test, then run Jio’s diagnostics and gather repeated results before contacting support.
A Cat6 Ethernet cable can help with this comparison if your device and router have compatible ports and the cable reaches. It cannot fix ISP-side congestion.

Check the router and connection in MyJio
- Open MyJio > Home > JioCare > Run Diagnostics. Labels and navigation can change. Jio says the tool checks connection health, router status, configuration, and Wi-Fi strength.
- Follow the diagnostic result. It can flag conditions such as slow speed, weak signal, router offline, configuration errors, or device overload. Depending on the result, check cables or restart the router as prompted.
- Retest and save the details. Record the time, measured upload speed, connection type, and diagnostic result so you can give Jio concrete information if the issue persists.
Jio describes the tool and its suggested fixes in its Run Diagnostics help page. For a larger home, Jio mentions a Jio Extender as a possible coverage option in its troubleshooting FAQ; consider that only when weak Wi-Fi coverage is actually the problem, not when a wired test is also slow.

Repeat the same upload-speed measurement and, if practical, the same YouTube upload at a different time. YouTube says an ISP may see spikes in upload traffic at peak hours that make video uploads take longer. A speed test at one moment does not rule out congestion at another.

If uploads to YouTube seem slower than uploads to other destinations, note the comparison and the time and share it with Jio. It may help narrow the support investigation, but it does not by itself prove throttling, a routing fault, or a YouTube–Jio peering problem. YouTube’s separate playback troubleshooting page recommends 7 Mbps for HD streaming on a TV; that is a playback recommendation, not an upload-speed threshold for publishing a video or broadcasting live.
A practical checklist before contacting Jio
- Confirm whether the problem is a finished-file upload or a live stream.
- For a file, note its size, format, and quality; compare like with like when retesting.
- Check your plan’s declared typical upload speed and take multiple measurements with Jio NetVelocity or TRAI MySpeed.
- Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet, and note whether other household devices are uploading or heavily using the connection.
- Run MyJio diagnostics, follow the indicated steps, and record the result.
- Repeat at another time and compare YouTube with another upload destination if you can.
When you report the issue, provide your plan, test results and times, Wi-Fi/LAN comparison, file details or live-stream symptoms, and whether other destinations behave the same way. Without those details, the exact cause cannot be determined.
Or let it run in the cloud
