An exit code of 0 means one process or pipeline step returned success under its own rules. It does not show that an AI coding agent edited the right files, implemented the behavior you asked for, or ran a check capable of catching its own mistakes. Treat a zero as a reason to keep checking. Base trust on the diff, the exact command that ran, and tests that cover the requirement.
