Facebook keeps showing you Reels because it recommends videos based on signals such as your activity and feedback—not just the accounts you follow. To influence what appears, open a Reel’s three-dot menu and choose Not Interested (or Show Less, if that is the label you see). This tells Facebook to rank similar content lower, but it does not guarantee that every Reel on a topic will disappear.
Why does Facebook keep showing me Reels?
Reels are recommended content, so your feed can include videos from accounts you do not follow. Meta says interactions with content on Facebook and Instagram help shape recommendations. Its October 2025 announcement also described a system intended to learn interests faster and surface newer Reels. Meta’s announcement says feedback such as tapping Not Interested can inform those recommendations.

Some Reels may also appear with social context. For example, Meta’s May 2023 description said a label could explain that a friend liked a Reel. Such a label is not guaranteed to appear on every recommendation. Meta’s description of Reels controls documents this example.

- Open the Reel you do not want to see.
- Tap its three-dot menu.
- Choose Not Interested if it appears. If the menu instead offers Show Less, choose that.
Facebook’s October 2025 announcement specifically names Not Interested as a way to send feedback. Meta’s older May 2023 explanation describes Show Less as temporarily lowering the ranking of that Reel and similar ones. These are recommendation signals, not a block or permanent topic filter. Menu labels and placement can differ by app version.

How do I get more Reels I like?
On a Reel you want to see more often, open the three-dot menu and choose Show More if the option is available. Meta said in May 2023 that this temporarily raises the ranking of that Reel and similar Reels. Meta’s October 2025 announcement also says saving Reels can help fine-tune recommendations.
What broader recommendation controls are available?
Reel-level feedback is the most direct way to respond to an individual video. For broader changes, Meta points people to Facebook feed controls for content and Ads Preferences for ads. Avoid assuming one exact Settings path: the interface can vary, and Meta’s Help Center information on general feed controls has not been consistently accessible without logging in.

Recommendation signals and controls have also changed over time. Meta said it would begin using interactions with Meta AI to personalize content and ad recommendations from December 16, 2025, in most regions; it gave a conversation about hiking as an example of an interest signal. Its October 2025 announcement said feed controls can be used to adjust content recommendations: Meta AI personalization details.

What to expect after changing your feedback
Feedback can influence what Facebook ranks for you, but Meta’s public descriptions do not promise an instant reset, complete removal of recommended videos, or a way to permanently block every Reel about a subject. If a recommendation is still unwanted, use the available feedback option when it appears again. Facebook’s Videos tab was renamed the Reels tab in June 2025, according to an indexed Help Center result; the exact navigation and labels may still vary across app versions and regions.
