Because viewport capture is the usual default: it records only the part of the page visible in the browser’s content area. To include content below the fold, choose a full-page screenshot mode or enable the automation tool’s full-page option.
What “viewport” means in a screenshot
The viewport is the visible page area inside the browser window, excluding browser controls such as tabs and the address bar. A viewport screenshot captures what is currently on screen; it does not automatically include the page’s full scrollable length.

A full-page screenshot is a separate capture mode. Playwright describes it as capturing the whole scrollable page as if it fit on a very tall screen. It captures page content, not the browser window chrome. Playwright’s screenshot guide explains the distinction.

Puppeteer
Set fullPage to true when calling page.screenshot():

Pass fullPage: true to the screenshot call:

Firefox Developer Tools
- Open Firefox Developer Tools and open its toolbox buttons settings.
- Enable the “Take a screenshot of the entire page” button, if it is available in your Firefox version.
- Use the screenshot control to capture the full page.
Firefox Developer Tools also documents capturing an individual element through the Inspector. The exact controls can vary by version; consult Firefox’s screenshot documentation.
Why content may still be missing
Full-page capture is not a universal behavior across every screenshot app or browser shortcut. If the result ends at the viewport despite selecting a full-page mode, check these points:

- Confirm the capture mode: make sure the tool supports full-page screenshots and that the full-page option is actually enabled.
- Check clipping or region settings: a selected clip or crop can constrain the output. Puppeteer exposes a
clipoption as well ascaptureBeyondViewport; review the settings used by your call. - Check for a tool-specific boundary: different operating-system shortcuts, browser features, and automation libraries do not necessarily behave alike. Follow the documentation for the tool and version you are using.
