If you can’t claim a PlayStation Plus monthly game, first check that you’re signed in to the subscriber’s account, your membership is active, and the game is still part of the monthly offer for your account’s region. Then make sure you’re selecting it under Monthly Games—not the Game Catalog—and check PlayStation Network status, licenses, system software, and download storage if the claim succeeded but the game will not open or download.
Make sure you’re claiming a Monthly Game
Monthly Games and the Game Catalog are separate PlayStation Plus benefits. On PS5, open Games home > PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Monthly Games, then select the title. On PS4, open the function screen, choose PlayStation Plus > Monthly Games, select the title, and choose Add to Library. These are the console steps in PlayStation’s Monthly Games guide.

If you found the game under Game Catalog or Classics Catalog instead, check the membership tier and whether it is still listed as available. PlayStation Plus benefits belong to the account that has the subscription. Confirm that you’re signed in to that account and that its membership is active in account settings. If the subscription has expired or is inactive, you cannot access its claimed monthly games until eligible access is restored.

You do not need to upgrade from Essential just to claim a Monthly Game: PlayStation lists Monthly Games under all three plans. An upgrade may matter if the title is actually a Game Catalog game.
Confirm the offer is still available in your region
PlayStation adds new Monthly Games each calendar month, and the current offer can change. Check the live Monthly Games guide for the region of your PlayStation account and confirm that the exact title is still available to claim. Do not rely on a listing or deadline from another region or month.

Use the subscriber’s account to redeem it
If a family member or another user is signed in, switch to the account that owns the Plus membership and claim the game there. PlayStation says redeeming Plus games on another account is a feature that cannot be shared.
Console sharing is different from redemption. Other eligible users may be able to use some downloaded benefits on one activated PS5 or the primary PS4, subject to PlayStation’s sharing rules; that does not give another account the right to claim the monthly offer.

If the game is claimed but locked
Check the entitlement before troubleshooting the console: make sure the game was claimed on the subscriber’s account, that the Plus membership is active, and that the title was available when you claimed it. Then check the PlayStation Network service status, install any available system software update, and restore licenses. PlayStation’s license restoration guide explains the console steps.
For PS5 error CE-107255-0, PlayStation says the console cannot confirm the Plus subscription. Check your internet connection and PSN sign-in, then verify that the subscription has not expired. If you can sign in and the membership is active, PlayStation describes the issue as likely temporary and advises trying again later. See the CE-107255-0 support page.

If the download will not start
A successful claim and a failed download are different problems. On PS5, pause the download and resume it. If it still fails, cancel or delete the download and start it again from your library. Check that the console has enough free storage. PlayStation’s download troubleshooting guide covers these steps.

When to contact PlayStation Support
If the same issue remains after these checks, give support enough detail to identify where the process fails. Record the exact error code or message, the steps that trigger it, and when you tried; include a screenshot or video if possible. PlayStation’s game troubleshooting guidance recommends gathering this information when seeking help.
