Clockify is a shared time-tracking and timesheet application. Workers record hours with a live timer, a manual timesheet entry, or a shared kiosk, and managers review that time by person, department, project and date. That combination is the practical reason teams adopt it. The headline’s “500,000+ businesses” figure, however, does not appear on Clockify’s pages in that form. The company’s own pages cite different numbers, described below, so it is worth reading the adoption claims before relying on any single count.
What Clockify does for a working team
Clockify’s homepage groups its uses into timekeeping, budgeting, planning, activity monitoring, attendance, reporting and payroll. It lists browser, desktop, mobile and kiosk access and says data syncs online. In practice, the product covers two sides of a time-tracking job: capturing the hours as work happens or afterwards, and then reviewing what those hours were spent on.

Timer tracking
Clockify’s startup page says workers can track time with a timer. This suits people who switch between tasks during the day and would rather start and stop a clock than reconstruct hours at the end of the week. Because entries are tied to projects and tasks, the timer produces data that managers can later sort by project rather than by a vague daily total.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Manual timesheet entry
The same page says hours can be entered manually in a timesheet. This is the path for people who work away from a computer, who forget to start the timer, or who need to log time for work done before the tool was set up. The trade-off is accuracy: manual entries depend on the worker remembering what they did, so teams that need precise labour costs often pair manual entry with an approval step.

Kiosk clock-in
Clockify’s attendance page says a team can use a kiosk. A kiosk is a shared device at a common station where workers clock in and out. It fits a site where people arrive at one location, such as a warehouse, clinic or workshop, and do not each have a company laptop. Remote or office teams that work at individual machines usually have less reason to use it and are better served by web, desktop or mobile entry. The kiosk is one setup option, not a guarantee that every workflow behaves the same way across devices or plans.
Reporting, review and approval
The reporting side is where a manager gets value from the captured data. According to the startup page, reports can be grouped by user, department, project and date. Teams can submit weekly or monthly timesheets and expenses for manager review and approval. Used together, these features answer three questions that come up in most timekeeping disputes:
- Who worked: reports by user show each person’s logged hours over a period.
- Where the time went: reports by project and task show how labour was distributed across client or internal work.
- Whether it was approved: submission and approval steps create a record that a manager reviewed the hours before they were used for billing or payroll.
The pages do not describe the approval mechanics in detail, such as how a rejected entry is returned to the worker or whether approvals can be locked after a pay period closes. Confirm those behaviours in a trial before committing a team to the workflow.

Clockify’s homepage and attendance page list several uses beyond basic clock-in and reporting. The table below shows what each page names as a use case and what the pages do not explain.
| Use case | Where Clockify names it | What the pages state | What is not explained |
|---|---|---|---|
| Timekeeping | Homepage; startup page | Timer and manual timesheet entry against projects | Nothing further on limits per plan |
| Budgeting | Homepage | Listed as a use case | How budgets are set and compared to tracked hours |
| Planning | Homepage; attendance page | Listed as a use case | Planning tools and how they link to time entries |
| Attendance | Homepage; attendance page | Kiosk setup listed on the attendance page | Which attendance features each plan includes |
| Reporting | Homepage; startup page | Reports by user, department, project and date | Export formats |
| Payroll | Homepage; attendance page | Listed as a use case | How hours feed into a payroll run; the pages do not describe a payroll processing function |
The gap between “listed as a use case” and “available in your plan” is the most important thing to check. A feature named on a marketing page may depend on the plan you buy, and the pages reviewed do not map each feature to each plan.

What the adoption numbers actually say
The headline’s “500,000+ businesses” is not a figure that Clockify’s pages state, and it was not independently verified. The company’s own pages cite different numbers, which may measure different things or reflect different update dates. The pages do not explain the difference, so this article does not treat either number as settling the other.
| Claim | Where it appears | Limitation stated or missing |
|---|---|---|
| “7M+ users in companies worldwide” | Clockify homepage, accessed in 2026 | No measurement date or counting method given |
| “Over 260,000 companies use Clockify to track time and improve productivity” | Clockify startup time-tracking page, accessed in 2026 | No measurement date or counting method given |
| “4.8 Rating • 9,000+ Reviews” | Clockify homepage, accessed in 2026 | The review platform and method are not stated |
| “95% Customer Satisfaction” and “95% satisfaction (18k+ ratings)” | Clockify homepage, accessed in 2026 | Vendor-reported; no method or collection date for the underlying ratings |
| “500,000+ businesses” | Article headline only | Not found on the pages reviewed and not independently verified |
None of these figures is an independent audit. Treat the user and company counts as Clockify’s own statements, and the satisfaction figures as vendor-reported, when you weigh them against your own requirements.

Clockify’s pricing page, accessed in 2026, listed the Basic plan at $3.99 per seat per month when billed annually and $4.99 per seat per month when billed monthly. The page says every active or invited user on the Team page occupies a paid seat, so people who have been invited but do not use the tool still count toward cost. The displayed currency depends on the visitor’s general location.

- Do workers share one location and one device? If yes, test the kiosk workflow first. If not, rely on web, desktop or mobile entry.
- Is accuracy critical? If yes, use timers for live work and restrict manual entries to exceptions that a manager approves.
- Do you need approval before hours are used? If yes, confirm the submission and approval steps on a trial team before rollout.
- Do you need budgeting, planning or payroll functions? If yes, check whether each one is included in the plan you are considering, since the pages do not map features to plans.
- How many people will hold seats? Count every invited user, not only active ones, because each occupies a paid seat.
Where Clockify fits and where the evidence stops
Clockify’s public materials describe a time-tracking product with timer, manual, reporting, approval and kiosk workflows, and they list budgeting, planning, attendance and payroll as further uses. The company’s adoption and satisfaction numbers are useful as a signal of scale, but they are self-reported and do not agree with one another. The pages reviewed did not include an independent comparison with competing products, so claims about how Clockify ranks against alternatives are not supported here.
A practical trial is the most reliable test. Set up one team, run a full pay or billing cycle with timers, manual entries and approvals, and check whether the reports match what the team recorded.
A shared kiosk and its hardware
A kiosk setup usually means a tablet or similar device at a fixed station. Clockify documents kiosk workflows and device availability, but it does not specify a particular stand, mount or accessory, and it does not require one. If your site uses a tablet as a shared clock-in point, a stable stand that keeps the screen at a usable height is a reasonable optional addition, and the choice of stand is independent of the software.
Shared timekeeping in practice
The appeal of Clockify for a working team is less about any single feature than about having one place where time is captured, reviewed and approved. The adoption numbers are Clockify’s own, and the figure in the headline is not one of them. Choose it on the features your workflow needs, the plan that includes them, and the cost of the seats you will actually fill.
