Broadcom says it deauthorized Insight as a VMware partner in North America because Insight did not meet partner-program requirements and good-standing standards. The public account does not identify which requirement Insight failed to meet, or disclose the underlying metrics or improvement-plan record.
What Broadcom says happened
CRN reported on October 5, 2026, that Insight had been deauthorized in North America for VMware license resale and Broadcom-funded VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Entitlement Services. The report does not establish a change to Insight’s authorization in other regions, or to its status for other Broadcom products.

Laura Falko, Broadcom VMware Global Partner Marketing and Partner Program Office Chief, said partners must meet tiering requirements and maintain good standing. She said Broadcom works with partners who fall short on an improvement plan and gives them an opportunity to make changes. Falko also characterized the case this way: “Unfortunately, the way they were approaching it was just different than what we were requiring.”

Broadcom’s explanation is general: the public report does not say which specific requirement or metric Insight allegedly missed, what changes were requested, or whether an improvement plan was offered in this case. Falko also said, “But this again isn’t the right business for everybody.” That is her characterization of partner fit, not a disclosure of the case’s underlying record.

How Insight responded
Insight said the change to its VMware reseller status was not recent. An Insight spokesperson said: “The change to our VMware resell partner status is not a recent development. Our VMWare, hybrid cloud, and cloud expertise remain an important part of our broader client-first approach, and our priority is, and always will be, helping clients choose and implement the technology strategy that best supports their business objectives.”
The statement distinguishes reseller status from broader expertise and client work. It does not specify which VMware services Insight currently provides, describe its authorization outside North America, or address the case-specific requirements Broadcom cited.
What the partner-program context adds
CRN reported that Broadcom revamped its Advantage Partner Program in November 2025 and launched an invite-only VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) program. In that context, CRN said the VCSP program reduced participation from around 4,500 to 500. Those are CRN-reported program counts, not a measure of Insight’s authorization or of the entire Advantage Partner Program.
Falko described the program she was discussing as “by invitation only” and said aligned partners could have a future in the ecosystem. That broader program context does not establish why Insight’s authorization changed or which criteria applied to its case.

What VMware customers should confirm
The deauthorization report does not determine an individual customer’s renewal, support, or entitlement status. Organizations that rely on Insight should verify their own arrangements rather than infer service continuity or interruption from the partner-status news.
- Review the current contract and renewal date, including which legal entity or reseller is named.
- Confirm the products, licenses, support, and VCF Entitlement Services covered by the customer’s agreement.
- Ask Broadcom or the account team to confirm the currently authorized reseller route for the customer’s region and product.
Broadcom’s partner FAQ provides historical context on the Advantage Partner Program transition: it said partners could continue doing business as usual until February 4, 2024. The central unanswered question is which requirement Insight allegedly failed to meet. The CRN report provides Broadcom’s stated rationale, but not case-specific metrics, notices, or an improvement-plan record.
