Water around a Midea dehumidifier usually points to a drainage issue: a bucket that is not seated correctly, a missing drain plug, or a hose that is loose, blocked, damaged, or routed incorrectly. First identify whether your unit is collecting water in its bucket, draining by gravity, or using a pump. Unplug the unit before handling its bucket or hoses, and use the manual for your exact model because connections and error codes vary.
Start with the leak and your drainage setup
Look for where water is appearing, then check how the unit is meant to drain. In bucket mode, water should collect in the bucket. With continuous gravity drainage, it should flow through a hose that descends from the unit to a drain. A pump-equipped model can push water through a hose, but that adds a pump filter and pump connection to check.

Find the model number on the silver nameplate at the back of the unit, then consult that model’s manual before buying a hose or following model-specific instructions. Midea’s FAQ explains where to find the model number and why drainage and error-code guidance depends on the model.

If you collect water in the bucket
- Unplug the dehumidifier. Remove the bucket and check for cracks, spills, or water on its exterior.
- Reinstall the bucket fully, following the manual. If it is misaligned, water may not be collected as intended; on some pump models, bucket fit is also part of pump troubleshooting.
- Check that the rear drain plug is installed. If the unit is supposed to collect water in the bucket, a removed plug can allow water to escape. Midea lists this as a cause of “Water on floor” in its EasyDry dehumidifier manual.
If you use continuous gravity drainage
- Unplug the unit before touching the hose or its connection.
- Check that the hose is attached to the correct drain outlet and seated securely. Look for a loose connection, damaged hose, or kink.
- Trace the hose to its destination. It must run downhill from the unit’s drain point; a section routed higher than the drain can prevent gravity drainage from working properly.
- Check that the hose end is open and directed into an appropriate drain or container. Confirm the exact fitting and connection procedure in your model’s manual.
Midea’s troubleshooting table lists a loose hose or hose connection as a cause of water on the floor. Its dehumidifier FAQ also says the hose route must not be higher than the unit’s drain point because drainage relies on gravity. If the hose is damaged, replace it only with one confirmed compatible with your model; a hose marketed for dehumidifiers is not automatically a fit.

If your model uses a pump
Do not assume every Midea dehumidifier has a pump. If yours does, verify that the pump hose is connected to the correct port and fully seated, then check it for kinks, leaks, or blockage. Follow the manual’s pump procedure rather than applying instructions from another model.
For the models whose manuals specify these checks, clean the pump filter and inspect the hose and connections for debris or leaks. Midea’s EasyDry manual and Cube manual include pump-hose, filter, and bucket-fit checks in their troubleshooting guidance.

What to do if water keeps appearing
- Recheck the drainage path that matches your setup: bucket seating and rear plug, gravity-hose fit and downward route, or pump-hose and filter checks where the manual specifies them.
- Look for a displayed error code and consult the troubleshooting section for your exact model. Codes are not universal: one Midea manual lists ES, AS, P2, EC, Eb, and E3, while Midea’s FAQ discusses particular codes and recommends customer service for certain persistent sensor or malfunction codes.
- If the leak continues after the external checks, or an error code persists, stop and contact Midea customer service or follow the model manual’s service guidance. Do not open the cabinet or attempt electrical or refrigerant-system repairs.
