The Whirlpool ACM795BA is a five-zone induction glass-ceramic hob with a flexible cooking zone that can be combined for larger pans. It is also, on the evidence available, no longer sold new. CHOICE marks it as a discontinued model, and Whirlpool’s Polish product page reports it as unavailable there. This review covers its documented layout, features, cookware requirements and installation points. It does not report cooking performance, because the figures here come from the manufacturer, a consumer testing listing and the product manual rather than from hands-on use.
What the ACM795BA is
The model appears under two names in the sources: ACM795BA and ACM 795/BA. Both refer to the same induction hob. Whirlpool’s Polish product page describes it as an induction glass-ceramic hob with FlexiCook, Sixth Sense functions and a slider control. CHOICE, the Australian consumer testing organisation, lists it as a 90 cm cooktop with a two-year warranty and a maximum capacity of 10.2 kW.

Why the width figures differ
The manufacturer gives an 86.0 cm width, while CHOICE calls the unit a 90 cm cooktop. The most likely explanation is that “90 cm” is a product class name, and 86.0 cm is the physical width of the unit. The sources do not spell this out, so treat it as an inference. For a kitchen plan, use the cutout dimensions in the manual rather than either overall width.

Layout and features
The hob has five heating zones. Four are standard cooking zones, and the fifth is a flexible area. The features Whirlpool names are FlexiCook and Sixth Sense; both are manufacturer descriptions, not independently tested results.
The Flexi zone and FlexiCook
Whirlpool describes FlexiCook as a way to combine cooking zones for larger cookware. CHOICE describes one Flexi zone that divides into two cooking zones. Read together, the zone can work as two separate cooking areas or be joined into one larger area for a wide pan. The manual should confirm how the switch between modes works on your unit, and whether any combinations are restricted.
Sixth Sense functions
Whirlpool states that Sixth Sense functions cover heating, melting and boiling. The product page does not give the settings, temperatures or timings involved, so judge the claim by the manual’s description rather than by the marketing summary. The manual also notes that cookware quality can affect Sixth Sense performance, which is covered in the cookware section below.

- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
Controls
The manufacturer lists a slider control. Ask for a demonstration or read the control section of the manual before buying, because the sources do not describe how the slider behaves in practice.
Cookware requirements
Induction only heats pans that respond to a magnet. The manual says cookware must be magnetically detectable, and it gives recommended pan-base diameters for each zone. Check your existing pans before assuming a new hob will work with them.
- Hold a fridge magnet against the base of each pan. If it does not stick firmly across the base, the pan will not work on an induction zone.
- Measure the base diameter and compare it with the recommended diameter for the zone you plan to use. The manual gives these values for each zone; the sources reviewed here do not reproduce them, so read the table in your copy of the manual.
- Prefer pans with flat, heavy bases. The manual says cookware quality can affect Sixth Sense performance, and a warped or thin base is the most likely problem to cause that.
Induction-compatible cookware with magnetic bases is the physical product category most relevant to this hob. Match the base size to the zone, not to the overall width of the hob.

Installation and electrical requirements
The manual includes installation and electrical connection instructions. A retailer-hosted guide also discusses the appliance’s electrical demands and booster operation, and it makes power and efficiency claims. Those claims were not independently verified, so do not treat them as proof of efficiency compared with other hobs.

Cutout size
CHOICE lists the installation dimensions as 84 × 49 cm. Confirm these against the manual and the physical unit before cutting a worktop, because a cutout error is expensive to correct.
Electrical supply
With a maximum capacity of 10.2 kW, the home’s electrical supply and circuit need to be checked by a qualified professional. The sources do not state what circuit rating a particular kitchen needs, and that depends on the house wiring and any existing appliances on the same circuit.

Who should install it
Have a qualified cooktop installer or electrician assess both the unit and the supply before installation. The sources do not establish a standard installation cost or confirm that the hob suits every kitchen, so get a written quote for the specific job.
Availability and buying a used unit
There are two separate signals. Whirlpool’s Polish product page shows the hob as unavailable on that page. CHOICE labels it a discontinued model. Neither statement proves that no second-hand or regional stock exists. The sources do not establish region-wide stock, the used-market supply, or whether replacement parts are still held.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFinding the manual by model number
- Open Whirlpool’s official support site.
- Search its manuals and literature by model number, ACM795BA or ACM 795/BA.
- Download the manual and read the installation, electrical and cookware sections before you buy.
Checks before buying a used unit
- Confirm that the model number on the listing matches ACM795BA or ACM 795/BA.
- Check the cutout and the electrical requirements against your kitchen before paying.
- Test your pans with a magnet and confirm their base sizes for the zones you will use.
- Ask whether the seller is passing on any warranty. CHOICE lists a two-year warranty for the model, but the sources do not say whether it transfers to a second owner.
Is it worth buying?
For a new purchase, the answer is no, because neither source shows the hob as currently available to buy new. The question becomes whether a used or regional unit fits your kitchen. On its documented specifications alone, the ACM795BA is a 90 cm class hob with five zones, one flexible zone, a slider control and a listed two-year warranty. This article does not offer a performance verdict, because the sources do not establish how the hob cooks. If you find a unit, the cookware, cutout and electrical checks above will tell you more about its suitability than the specification sheet does.
