Consider the compact, AA-powered Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED for a simple receiver-only setup; the rechargeable G305 X SUPERLIGHT for its familiar shape with an internal battery; or the larger, right-handed Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed if you want Bluetooth as well as a receiver. For specialized needs, the Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless SE has MMO/MOBA-focused buttons, while the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is a lighter-play candidate. These are models to check against your local price—not a guarantee that every one currently costs less than $100.
How to choose before comparing models
Start with how the mouse sits in your hand and how you connect it. A small, light shape can suit fingertip control but feel cramped in a palm grip; a heavier mouse with more buttons may be useful for ability-heavy games but tiring for quick, repeated movements. Wireless mode and battery design also affect everyday convenience.

- Fit: Consider hand size, grip style, shape, and whether you need a right-handed or more symmetrical design.
- Connection: A USB receiver is the relevant mode for gaming on receiver-only mice. Bluetooth can add flexibility for casual use or switching devices, but is not the same connection choice.
- Power: A replaceable AA battery and an internal rechargeable battery suit different habits. Check the exact model rather than assuming similarly named versions share a battery design.
- Weight and controls: Lower weight may be preferable for fast movements; extra side buttons can make complex game bindings easier to reach.
- Price: Verify the exact model and seller in your country. Prices, promotions, color variants, tax, and shipping can change whether a mouse meets a strict $100 limit.
Wireless mouse options by use case
| Model | Best fit | Connectivity and power | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED | Budget-oriented, uncomplicated gaming and everyday use | USB receiver; one AA battery. Logitech advertises up to 250 hours on its product page. | Small, ambidextrous egg shape; may be too small for larger hands using palm or claw grip. |
| Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT | People who like the G305-style shape and want a rechargeable internal battery | Receiver connection; rechargeable internal battery. RTINGS describes 1000 Hz as the default polling rate. | Optional 8000 Hz receiver is not included; RTINGS says its practical impact is minimal for most users. Confirm local price. |
| Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed | Right-handed users seeking a larger ergonomic shape and two wireless modes | USB receiver or Bluetooth; battery-powered. | RTINGS lists its default weight as 113.8 g, making it a less obvious choice for buyers who prioritize light, low-effort movement. |
| SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 | A mid-range candidate for gaming where a lighter-play option is appealing | Tom’s Guide reports more than 120 hours at a 1,000 Hz polling rate. | Check the full review and current local price; confirm battery specifications with the manufacturer before relying on the reported runtime. |
| Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless SE | MMO/MOBA players who want many reachable bindings | PC Gamer lists 16 buttons. | PC Gamer lists a weight of 161 g; its button layout and weight make it specialized rather than a general-purpose lightweight pick. |
| Logitech G703 LIGHTSPEED | Buyers who find a qualifying local listing and want its specified sensor features | Logitech specifies the HERO 25K sensor and POWERPLAY compatibility; POWERPLAY is sold separately. | Logitech lists a maximum sensitivity range of 100–25,600 DPI. The current under-$100 price was not established, so include it only if the exact listing meets your budget. |
Which mouse makes sense for your hand and routine?
For a simple, replaceable-battery setup: Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED
The G305 LIGHTSPEED is the straightforward budget-oriented candidate in this group. Logitech advertises up to 250 hours on one AA battery; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement. Its receiver-only connection avoids choosing between receiver and Bluetooth modes, but it does not offer the latter.
Shape is the main caution. RTINGS describes it as a small, ambidextrous egg. Larger hands may find it too small for palm or claw grip, while fingertip grip can work across a wider range of hand sizes. Its age does not by itself make it a poor choice, but price and fit matter more than the model’s reputation.

- The durable, compact design with built-in nano receiver storage makes G305 not just a great portable desktop mouse, but also a great laptop travel companion, use with a gaming laptop and play anywhere
For a rechargeable take on the compact shape: Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT
This is the newer rechargeable version of the familiar egg-shaped design. RTINGS’ review, published July 7, 2026, describes improved performance over the predecessor and identifies 1000 Hz as the default polling rate. The optional 8000 Hz receiver is not included, and RTINGS says most users will see minimal practical benefit from it. Do not pay extra for a maximum polling-rate figure unless your use case justifies it; first check the current price and whether the shape suits you.
For a larger, ergonomic right-handed shape: Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed
Choose this candidate if a more substantial right-handed design and connection flexibility matter more than minimizing weight. It supports both a receiver and Bluetooth, letting you choose a gaming-oriented receiver connection or a more casual Bluetooth connection. At the 113.8 g default weight listed by RTINGS, it is not the natural pick for someone seeking the lightest possible mouse for fast, repeated movements.

For a lighter-play candidate: SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2
Tom’s Guide characterizes this as a mid-range option and reports more than 120 hours of battery life at 1,000 Hz polling. Treat that runtime as the guide’s reported figure, not a universal guarantee: battery life depends on conditions, and the manufacturer’s current specification should be checked before purchase. The available evidence does not establish that it is below $100 in every market.

For MMO/MOBA bindings: Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless SE
PC Gamer lists 16 buttons and a weight of 161 g, positioning the Scimitar Elite Wireless SE for MMO/MOBA play. Its appeal is access to many bindings, not low weight for shooter-style movement. If you play a mix of genres, decide whether those extra controls are useful often enough to justify carrying a heavier, more specialized mouse.

For a G703 listing that fits the budget: Logitech G703 LIGHTSPEED
Logitech specifies a HERO 25K sensor, a 100–25,600 maximum DPI range, and compatibility with its POWERPLAY charging system, which is sold separately. The available evidence does not confirm a current price below $100. Treat it as a conditional option: consider it only after checking the exact model, local listing, and total cost.
What the specifications do—and do not—tell you
DPI is not a quality score
A maximum DPI number describes a sensitivity range, not how easily you will control a mouse in a game. The G703’s listed maximum of 25,600 DPI is a specification, not evidence that it will suit you better than a mouse with a lower maximum. Start with comfort and controllable movement rather than choosing by the largest figure.

Polling rate is a trade-off, not a must-have maximum
The G305 X SUPERLIGHT defaults to 1000 Hz according to RTINGS, with optional support for an 8000 Hz receiver that is sold separately. RTINGS considers the practical difference minimal for most users. For this budget decision, fit, weight, connection mode, buttons, and current price are more actionable than buying solely to reach the highest polling rate.
