Treat Recall differently: it is opt-in and saves a searchable history of screen activity, so leave snapshot saving off unless you want that capability and have reviewed its privacy controls.
Start by checking your exact Aspire model and the features available in your Windows installation. “Aspire 16 AI” covers multiple processor families, and menus, supported languages, and availability can vary by model, Windows build, and rollout.

Check your exact Aspire 16 AI model first
Acer uses the Aspire 16 AI name for more than one configuration. Its May 16, 2025 announcement includes Snapdragon A16-11M, Intel A16-52M, and AMD A16-61M families. That does not mean every model has identical hardware or feature support. For example, Acer’s US specifications for the Snapdragon A16-11M-X3EW list Windows 11 Home and a 45-TOPS Qualcomm Hexagon NPU; those details apply to that SKU, not the whole range. Find the full model number in Settings > System > About or on the product label. Then check Windows Update. Microsoft says Copilot+ AI components can be serviced separately through Windows Update, so features may change without waiting for a major Windows feature update. Which features are worth trying?

Windows Studio Effects: useful if you make video calls
Look for Studio effects in Quick Settings, or open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras and select the camera. Depending on the device, options can include background blur, eye contact, automatic framing, portrait light, and creative filters. Microsoft’s Windows Studio Effects overview describes the controls and notes that the available effects depend on device capability.
Start with one effect that addresses a real problem, such as background blur in a busy room or automatic framing when you move during calls. Check the camera preview in the apps you actually use. An effect enabled in Windows works at the hardware level and can apply to apps using that camera, including apps that do not expose a Windows Studio Effects control of their own. Do not assume the setting affects only one meeting app.

Live Captions: enable it when captions or translation help
Live Captions can caption audio across Windows, which can be useful for accessibility, following speech in a noisy environment, or understanding media. On Copilot+ PCs, Microsoft currently documents translation of live or prerecorded audio and video from more than 40 languages into English and from more than 40 languages into Simplified Chinese. Language availability and behavior should be confirmed for the Windows build in use; see Microsoft’s Live Captions documentation.
Microsoft says the audio, voice data, and captions do not leave the device. If you do not need captions or supported-language translation, there is no need to turn the feature on just because the laptop is marketed as an AI PC.

Click to Do: keep it if the shortcuts save steps
Click to Do recognizes text or images on screen and offers actions, such as copying text or opening selected content in another app. Try it on a few tasks you already perform, then keep using it only if its suggestions make those tasks quicker. Microsoft notes that actions and integrations vary; some actions can depend on your account, language, or licensing, and asking Microsoft Copilot can require a Microsoft 365 license. Do not treat every action as an offline feature. The available options can differ, and some may involve linked services or account requirements.

Recall: decide whether a searchable screen history is worth it
Recall is a preview feature for compatible Copilot+ PCs. Saving snapshots is off until a user opts in. If enabled, Recall periodically captures the active screen so you can search past activity. Microsoft says snapshots and associated data are stored and processed locally, are not shared with Microsoft or third parties, and are protected by Windows Hello. Choose based on whether you expect to benefit from retrieving something you saw on screen. Before opting in, review the app and website filters, sensitive-information filter, storage cap and duration, and pause and deletion controls. Filtering Recall does not erase other records of a visit: Microsoft says websites, browsers, organizations, or internet providers may still know that a site was visited. If a searchable history of screen activity is not useful to you, leave snapshot saving off.

Do not confuse Acer utilities with Windows features
Acer also lists manufacturer utilities such as AcerSense, PurifiedView, PurifiedVoice, LiveArt, and, on some configurations, Acer Assist and VisionArt. These are separate from Windows features, and their availability can differ by configuration. Acer describes PurifiedView and PurifiedVoice as video-conference tools, while AcerSense manages device settings. Check the apps installed on your model rather than assuming every Aspire 16 AI includes every utility; Acer’s announcement of the Aspire AI models names the utilities and configurations.
