For quick wins in Windows 11, learn Win+V for clipboard history, Win+H for voice typing, and Win+Z for window layouts. Clipboard history must be turned on, and voice typing is different from Voice access, which can control more of the PC. The shortcuts below work in Windows 11, though some common editing shortcuts depend on the app.
Which Windows 11 shortcuts are worth learning first?
Use the Windows key (Win) together with the letter or arrow shown. These shortcuts are a practical starting set; individual apps may handle common editing shortcuts differently. See Microsoft’s Windows keyboard shortcut reference and keyboard tips for more.

- Alt+Tab: Switch among open apps on the current desktop.

How do you see and manage clipboard history?
Clipboard history is off by default. Press Win+V; if prompted, choose to turn it on. You can also enable it through Settings > System > Clipboard. Once enabled, press Win+V to open the history panel and select an entry to paste it.
Microsoft Support documents a limit of 25 entries, with a maximum of 4 MB per item. Pin an item in the panel to keep it available; pinned entries remain while older unpinned items are cleared to make room. Treat the feature as a handy working history, not a permanent archive. Details are in Microsoft’s clipboard guide.

Consider what you copy before enabling sync, especially if you handle private or work information; history and syncing are not automatically enabled.

Voice access is the broader voice-control and text-authoring feature documented for Windows 11 version 22H2 and later. It supports spoken commands for opening apps, navigating, selecting controls, scrolling, and arranging windows, and Microsoft says it can work without an internet connection. Use it when you want to interact with the PC by voice beyond dictating text. See Microsoft’s Voice access command list.

How do Focus sessions reduce distractions?
A Focus session pairs a timer with notification and taskbar controls. Start one from the notification area, Settings, or the Clock app, then adjust its duration and related options. By default, a session turns on Do Not Disturb and suppresses taskbar badges and flashing. If you only want to manage notifications without a timed session, configure Do Not Disturb separately. Microsoft’s Focus guide covers session settings.
