Which VPN Should You Choose for Brazil in 2026?

Need a Brazilian IP address or a VPN while in Brazil? Compare provider-reported server options, audit scope, device limits, and reported free-plan restrictions.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a Brazilian IP address, choose a service with an exit server in Brazil; a nearby server in another country will not give you a Brazilian location. Based on Tom’s Guide’s Brazil comparison, NordVPN is its overall pick, while ExpressVPN is highlighted for ease of use. Proton VPN is worth considering if you prioritize its published server-infrastructure audit, and PrivadoVPN Free is a limited free option. Those are different strengths, not guarantees of speed, privacy in every circumstance, or continued access to a particular streaming service.

How to choose a VPN for Brazil

Start with the location your connection needs to appear to come from. If you are abroad and need a Brazilian IP address, select a Brazil exit server in the app. If you are in Brazil and need an IP address elsewhere, you need a provider with a server in the country you want to appear to be in. Server availability and performance can differ by location.

  • Server locations: Check that the provider offers the Brazil server, or the foreign country, you need.
  • Privacy evidence: Read the provider’s policy and determine exactly what any independent audit examined. An audit of particular infrastructure is not a blanket guarantee about every service or every system.
  • Speed and streaming: Look for tests that identify where they were run and when. Streaming services can change VPN blocking, so access is not permanent.
  • Devices: Check supported platforms and the simultaneous-connection limit against the number of devices you use.
  • Total cost: Compare the full subscription term, renewal price, refund terms, and payment options available to you. Current prices and localized terms were not established in the sources cited here.

Brazil VPN options compared

Service Brazil location evidence What stands out Important qualification
NordVPN Its official Brazil page listed 20+ servers and points users to São Paulo when accessed in 2026. Tom’s Guide ranked it first in its Brazil comparison and reported its own speed and streaming tests. The server count is provider-reported; test outcomes and streaming access can change.
ExpressVPN A Brazil pick in Tom’s Guide’s comparison; a current Brazil server count is not stated in the cited material. Tom’s Guide describes its apps as beginner-friendly, making it an ease-of-use option. The cited comparison does not establish a current server count, offer, or performance guarantee.
Proton VPN Its official page listed 100+ servers in São Paulo, with up to 10 Gbps connectivity per server, when accessed in 2026. It publishes a Securitum audit conclusion concerning examined Proton server infrastructure. Server figures are provider claims. The audit applies to the examined infrastructure and reviewed evidence, not every VPN provider or every possible system.
PrivadoVPN Free Tom’s Guide reported a Brazil server in its 2026 comparison. A no-cost option for limited use. Tom’s Guide reported a 10 GB monthly allowance followed by a 1 Mbps restriction. Confirm current plan terms before relying on them.

What the comparison can—and cannot—tell you

Rankings and tests

Tom’s Guide places NordVPN first and ExpressVPN second in its comparison. That is the publication’s editorial ranking, not a universal result. Its methodology description says it examines policies and apps, evaluates features and ease of use, runs repeated speed tests from systems in the US and UK, and tests access to services including Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video from three locations. The page was originally published on 12 April 2024 and presents 2026 updates, so its findings should be understood as that publication’s testing rather than a promise about your connection today.

Server counts

Provider-published server totals are snapshots, not independent measures of quality. The Brazil pages for NordVPN and Proton VPN gave the counts shown above when accessed in 2026. A larger stated count alone does not establish which service will be fastest or most reliable from your location.

Privacy and audit scope

Proton VPN’s page quotes a 2026 Securitum report: “The technical evidence reviewed during the engagement did not indicate that the examined Proton VPN server infrastructure logs users’ browsing activity, DNS queries, destination services, network traffic contents or user-identifiable connection metadata.” The wording is limited to the examined infrastructure and evidence reviewed during that engagement. Proton also says its no-logs policy has been tested in over 400 legal cases; that figure is the provider’s statement, not an independently established count in the cited material.

Free-plan limits

Tom’s Guide reported that PrivadoVPN Free includes a Brazil server with a 10 GB monthly allowance, after which speed is restricted to 1 Mbps. It also reported that Proton VPN Free has no servers inside or near Brazil. These are plan details reported in the comparison, not a substitute for checking current availability and terms.

Which one fits your use?

  • For a general-purpose starting point: NordVPN is the clearest pick if you want to follow Tom’s Guide’s top-ranked option and need a Brazil server, but treat the ranking and test findings as that outlet’s assessment.
  • For simpler app use: Consider ExpressVPN if beginner-friendly apps matter most to you; the cited material does not supply a current Brazil server count or offer details.
  • For an audit-focused comparison: Proton VPN provides a specifically scoped audit disclosure and publishes a São Paulo server count. Read the audit’s scope rather than treating it as proof about all services.
  • For occasional use without paying: PrivadoVPN Free may suit light use if its current Brazil availability and data limit meet your needs. The reported cap and speed restriction make it a poor fit for sustained high-bandwidth use.

How to connect through Brazil

  1. Install the VPN app on your device and sign in or create an account under the provider’s current terms.
  2. Open the app’s server or location list and choose Brazil. For a Brazilian IP, choose a Brazilian exit location such as São Paulo if offered.
  3. Connect, then check the app’s status to confirm the connection is active. If a site or app still shows your previous location, disconnect and reconnect or try another available Brazil server.
  4. If you need a foreign IP while in Brazil, choose the required country instead; connecting to another Brazilian server will not provide that foreign location.

Legal and practical limits

The sources cited here do not establish a current answer from Brazilian primary legal sources about VPN legality. This article therefore does not offer legal advice on that question. Separately, a VPN does not guarantee that a streaming platform will accept a connection from a particular server: services can block endpoints, and access can change after testing.
