Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWithin Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup, the Ultra’s extra camera hardware, built-in S Pen and Privacy Display are the clearest reasons to pay more—but only if you will use them. The S26+ is a more focused step up: it gives you a larger, higher-resolution screen and a higher listed battery capacity than the S26. Compare local prices before deciding; specifications alone cannot establish which model is the best value.
What do the Galaxy S26 models add at each tier?
Samsung’s published specifications show where the models differ. The figures below are manufacturer specifications, not independent tests of image quality or battery life.

| Model | Rear cameras listed by Samsung | Display | Battery capacity and maximum wired charging | Distinctive feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto | 6.3-inch FHD+ | 4,300mAh; up to 25W | Smaller standard model |
| Galaxy S26+ | 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto | 6.7-inch QHD+ | 4,900mAh; up to 45W | Larger, higher-resolution display |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 200MP wide, 50MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto, 50MP telephoto with up to 100x Space Zoom | 6.9-inch QHD+ | 5,000mAh; up to 60W | Additional camera hardware, S Pen and Privacy Display |
Samsung lists the S26 FE separately in its US comparison: it has a 6.7-inch FHD+ display. The comparison information used here does not establish a complete FE camera or battery specification, so those details are not included in the table. Storage options vary by model, and Samsung says the phones do not support external SD cards.

Is the S26 Ultra’s camera system worth the extra cost?
It can be if you often frame distant subjects or want more camera options. The S26 and S26+ share the same listed rear-camera arrangement: a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP 3x telephoto. The Ultra adds a 200MP wide camera, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP telephoto that Samsung lists with up to 100x Space Zoom.

Those specifications indicate greater hardware flexibility, not guaranteed better-looking photographs in every situation. Samsung’s listed specifications do not by themselves prove comparative image quality, low-light results or the usefulness of extreme zoom. If you mostly take everyday wide and ultra-wide shots, the shared S26/S26+ camera setup may be enough. If you regularly photograph distant subjects, the Ultra’s additional telephoto hardware is a more concrete reason to consider the premium.
When is the S26+ a worthwhile step up from the S26?
The clearest reason is the display. Samsung lists the S26 with a 6.3-inch FHD+ screen and the S26+ with a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen. The Ultra is 6.9 inches and QHD+. The larger screen can suit reading, video and multitasking, but it also means a larger phone to hold and carry. Consider hand comfort and one-handed use rather than treating more screen area as automatically better value.

The S26+ also has a higher listed battery capacity and wired charging ceiling: 4,900mAh and up to 45W, compared with 4,300mAh and up to 25W for the S26. The Ultra is listed at 5,000mAh and up to 60W. These are capacity and charging specifications, not measured runtime or a promise that a phone will charge at its maximum rate in every condition. Actual battery life varies with workload, settings, network and other conditions.
Are the Ultra’s S Pen and Privacy Display worth paying for?
S Pen: worthwhile for regular writing or drawing
The S Pen is included with the S26 Ultra; Samsung says the S26, S26+ and S26 FE do not support S Pen functionality. Samsung lists uses including note capture, translation and screen capture. The S26 Ultra pen lacks Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Air Action support, so do not assume it offers those remote-control features. If you rarely write or draw on a phone, this exclusive feature is unlikely to justify the upgrade on its own.

Privacy Display: useful when you view sensitive content in public
Samsung describes the Ultra’s built-in Privacy Display as limiting visibility from side angles. That can matter if you often view private messages, work material or other sensitive information around other people. Its value depends on how often that situation comes up for you; it is a specific privacy feature, not a general camera or screen-quality upgrade.
Should Galaxy AI features affect your choice?
Samsung positions Now Nudge as context-aware assistance and describes Galaxy AI as a way to reduce steps in tasks. Those descriptions explain the intended use, but they are not independent evidence that the tools save time for every person. Consider whether the described assistance fits tasks you actually do and whether you are comfortable using AI features in those workflows. Samsung CEO, President and Device eXperience Division head TM Roh said in the company’s February 26, 2026 newsroom announcement: “We believe AI should be something people can depend on every day, designed to work consistently for everyone and without the need for expertise.” That is Samsung’s stated design intent, not proof of user outcomes.

How to decide whether the upgrade is worth it
- Start with the feature you will use. Choose the Ultra for its extra camera hardware, S Pen or side-angle Privacy Display if one of those meets a regular need.
- Choose the S26+ for its screen-first benefits. Its 6.7-inch QHD+ display and higher listed battery capacity and wired charging ceiling distinguish it from the smaller S26.
- Keep the S26 in consideration if size matters most. It has the smallest listed display in this trio and shares the S26+ camera arrangement.
- Compare the current local price gap. Prices depend on market and retailer, so check what each model costs where you plan to buy rather than relying on a universal value ranking.
Samsung UK’s guide says the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra were announced on February 25, 2026, and available to buy there from March 11, 2026. Those are UK dates; availability and pricing should be checked in your own market.
