Which Robotic Pool Cleaner Fits Your Inground Pool? Models and Buying Guide

Choose an inground robotic pool cleaner by checking pool coverage, surface compatibility, cleaning areas, power design, filtration and local warranty support.

There is no evidence here for a single robotic pool cleaner that is best for every inground pool. Start with the pool’s size, shape, surface and debris, then check whether a candidate cleans only the floor or also climbs walls and reaches the waterline. Treat manufacturer specifications as product claims—not independent proof of superior cleaning.

How to choose a robotic pool cleaner for an inground pool

A stated pool-length limit is a useful first screen, not a guarantee that a cleaner suits every pool within that limit. Compare the model’s stated coverage with your pool’s shape, slope, steps, ledges and interior finish. Check the current product documentation for the exact model and configuration before buying.

Match the cleaning area to your pool

Some cleaners are described as floor-only; others are designed to climb walls and clean the waterline as well. Decide which areas you want the robot to handle, then verify that coverage in the manufacturer’s specifications. A pool-length figure alone does not tell you whether a cleaner will handle its walls, steps or ledges.

Check surface and shape compatibility

Pool finishes and layouts vary. For example, Maytronics lists PVC, fiberglass, stone, mosaic and ceramic tile among the compatible surfaces for its Dolphin LIBERTY 600, along with multiple pool shapes. Those are manufacturer-listed compatibility details, not an independent assessment of cleaning results. Confirm that the current listing for your market covers your pool’s finish and layout.

Corded or cordless: which suits your routine?

A corded cleaner avoids charging, but its cable needs to be managed during use and stored afterward. A cordless cleaner removes the in-pool power cable but adds charging and battery management to ownership. Maytronics’ comparison describes both designs; it does not establish that one is better for every pool owner.

Before choosing, check the exact model’s cleaning-cycle duration, charging requirements, retrieval method and any retrieval feature. Do not assume that cordless models share the same battery life or that corded models offer the same cable-management features.

Compare filtration with the debris your pool collects

Look at the filter or basket design and the stated filtration rating in the model’s current specifications. The right setup depends partly on what enters your pool: leaves and larger debris can make capacity and basket access important, while fine particles make the filtration rating more relevant. Maytronics’ comparison includes model-level filtration details, but these are manufacturer-provided specifications; the available evidence does not establish independent test results that would support ranking filtration performance across models.

Model Manufacturer-reported details What to verify for your pool
Dolphin Nautilus CC Supreme Maytronics describes it as a premium robotic cleaner for inground pools up to 50 feet. Confirm that its stated coverage suits your pool’s shape and features, and check the current cleaning-area and warranty details.
Dolphin LIBERTY 600 Maytronics lists compatibility with PVC, fiberglass, stone, mosaic and ceramic tile surfaces, multiple pool shapes, a three-year warranty and Maytronics One app support. Confirm market-specific compatibility, warranty terms and app features for the configuration you are considering.
Dolphin Sigma Maytronics’ official US product page lists a three-year warranty. Check the current US product information and assess cleaning coverage separately; the warranty duration alone says nothing about comparative performance.
Dolphin LIBERTY 300 Maytronics’ official US product page surfaces sound-activated retrieval and a two-year warranty. Check the current US listing for feature availability and warranty terms.
Dolphin E10 Maytronics’ model comparison describes it as an entry model for pools up to 33 feet, with floor-only cleaning. Confirm the current model documentation and make sure floor-only coverage meets your needs.

Maytronics’ comparison page, titled “Dolphin vs Polaris: Which Robotic Pool Cleaner Is Worth Your Money?” and stated to have been updated June 23, 2026, compares models from those brands. Because the comparison is published by a manufacturer, treat its cross-brand details as manufacturer-reported and confirm specifications and warranty terms with each brand before making a cross-brand decision.

Check warranty, service and the cost of ownership

Warranty duration varies by model: the cited Maytronics product pages list three years for the LIBERTY 600 and Sigma, and two years for the LIBERTY 300. These are model- and market-specific terms, not a promise that every unit or region has identical coverage. Read the current warranty for the exact product and country before purchase.

Service access also matters if the cleaner needs repair. A retailer overview for Dolphin cleaners highlights authorized dealers and service support. Check whether an authorized service provider is available where you live, what the warranty requires, and how replacement parts or servicing affect your expected ownership cost. Prices, stock and warranty terms can change, so verify them at the point of purchase.
