A lower refresh rate is worth trying only if your phone offers the option and you are comfortable with less-smooth scrolling. Xiaomi documents these controls for its phones, but their exact paths and availability have not been confirmed for every Redmi Note 17 4G version.
Check what is using battery before changing settings
Open Settings and search for “battery” if the menu names below do not match your phone. Xiaomi’s support guidance says the Battery Saver page can show a battery-use trend and the percentage consumed by apps; look for its line chart or app-usage breakdown. This lets you target a visible drain instead of restricting every app. Xiaomi’s battery-usage guide describes the chart, but the precise Redmi Note 17 4G menu path is not confirmed.

Choose a level that remains comfortable and readable; there is no verified figure for how much runtime this change adds on the Redmi Note 17 4G. Restrict background activity selectively
Before limiting an app, consider whether it needs to work when you are not using it. Messaging, alarms, navigation, and wearable companion apps may be important for timely background updates. Xiaomi describes Battery Saver on the REDMI 13C 5G as reducing background activity and freezing background apps; that is an example from another model, not a confirmed description of every Note 17 4G software build. Use Battery Saver when the trade-off makes sense
On the REDMI 13C 5G, Xiaomi documents routes including Settings > Battery > Current mode > Battery saver, a Control Center shortcut, and the Security app. Check your Note 17 4G’s Settings search or Control Center for the equivalent; these paths are not verified for this model. Battery Saver is best treated as a runtime-oriented choice, not a setting that must stay on all the time.
Try 60 Hz only if your display settings offer it
Xiaomi suggests 60 Hz to reduce standby drain on the Xiaomi MIX Flip, but that does not establish that the Redmi Note 17 4G has the same option. If you find a refresh-rate control, a lower rate may reduce display energy use at the cost of less-smooth scrolling. The MIX Flip support page is a different-model example, not proof of Note 17 4G availability.

What is known about this phone’s battery?
A Xiaomi Store Slovenia regional listing identifies the Redmi Note 17 4G as model 26012RN62Y and lists Xiaomi HyperOS, a typical battery capacity of 7,700 mAh, 45 W charging, and up to 22.5 W wired reverse charging. These are listing specifications, not independent test results; the listing does not establish that every regional software build or menu layout is identical. See the regional Xiaomi Store listing.
The same listing reports up to 26 hours of video playback in Xiaomi internal-laboratory tests and more than two days of use under simulated conditions. Xiaomi cautions that actual results vary with environment, software, network conditions, and personal habits; these figures should not be read as a guaranteed outcome from changing any single setting. The listing also says adapter inclusion varies by local seller and currently notes that an adapter is not included. Its 10–45 W suitable-adapter range does not identify a specific compatible charger, so check local packaging and compatibility.

Confirm the options on your software version
- In Settings, search for “battery” and open the battery-use or Battery Saver screen to find the usage breakdown and available controls.
- Check display settings for a refresh-rate option before assuming 60 Hz can be selected.
- Open About phone to confirm the installed software version if menus differ from Xiaomi’s support examples.
The regional listing confirms HyperOS for the listed device, but it does not establish a universal build, region, or menu layout. The available information also does not confirm whether every Note 17 4G variant has an optimized-charging or charge-limit control.
