MediaTek Helio G99 phones are 4G devices, and the chipset alone does not tell you which one is best to buy. Xiaomi’s Singapore product page confirms the POCO M5 as one example; India-focused listings also name models such as the realme 10 and Moto G72. Check the exact regional version, current availability and the phone’s own specifications before choosing.
What the Helio G99 does—and does not—tell you
MediaTek describes the Helio G99 as a 4G LTE platform built on a TSMC N6 6nm-class process. It has eight CPU cores: two Arm Cortex-A76 cores with stated maximum speeds of 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0GHz. MediaTek lists a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, LPDDR4X memory support and UFS 2.2-class storage. MediaTek’s Helio G99 specifications also include Cat-13 LTE and Wi-Fi 5.

The G99 is not a 5G chipset. Its platform supports configurations up to a 120Hz display and a 108MP main camera, but those are maximum platform capabilities, not guaranteed features on every phone. As MediaTek puts it, “Partners can tailor MediaTek Helio G99 platform to meet specific requirements for their devices or markets.” The manufacturer determines the actual screen, cameras, memory, storage and other features in each handset.
Which phones are listed with the Helio G99?
POCO M5: a manufacturer-confirmed example
Xiaomi Singapore’s POCO M5 specifications identify the phone’s processor as the Helio G99. For that Singapore-market listing, Xiaomi specifies a 6.58-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz DynamicSwitch, a 5000mAh typical-capacity battery, 18W charging and a 50MP main camera. It lists LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2, with configurations up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. These are the specifications on Xiaomi Singapore’s page; other markets or sellers may offer different configurations.

Other names in an India-focused listing
91mobiles’ Helio G99 phone list includes the POCO M5, realme 10, Moto G72, Samsung Galaxy A07, Samsung Galaxy F07 and Samsung Galaxy M07 4G, among other entries. The page is India-focused, and its prices are in rupees. It labels the Samsung Galaxy A08 4G and Galaxy A18 4G as upcoming; the listing alone does not establish that either is available as confirmed stock. Treat the page as a model-discovery aid, not a complete worldwide inventory or a guarantee of current availability.
How to compare Helio G99 phones before buying
Compare the complete phone rather than treating the shared processor as a ranking. Start with the market and exact model number, then check the features that affect your use:

- Display: Look at panel type, resolution, brightness and refresh rate. A G99 phone is not automatically a 120Hz model; Xiaomi lists the POCO M5 at 90Hz.
- Cameras: Compare the actual sensors and camera features on the handset. The platform’s 108MP maximum does not mean a particular phone has a 108MP camera or will produce better photos.
- Battery and charging: Check each model’s stated capacity and charging rate. Chipset specifications do not establish real-world battery life.
- Memory and storage: Confirm the installed RAM and storage capacity, plus any expansion options. Platform support for LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 does not guarantee a particular configuration.
- Network and local support: Verify LTE bands, SIM setup, regional model, warranty and seller. A phone’s network compatibility depends on its specific version and your carrier.
- Price, condition and stock: Compare current local listings for the exact variant, including whether it is new or used. Prices and availability can change, and the rupee prices on the 91mobiles page are specific to its Indian-market context.
- Software support: Check the manufacturer’s current support information for the exact model and region before buying; the cited listings do not establish a comparative software-support ranking.
Is a Helio G99 phone good for gaming?
The chipset specifications establish its CPU and GPU configuration, but the cited sources do not provide controlled gaming benchmarks or a comparative test of G99 phones. Gaming performance also depends on the handset’s cooling, software, display and configuration. If games matter to you, look for tests of the exact phone and the games you play rather than assuming that every G99 model performs alike.

Which Helio G99 phone should you buy?
There is no supported universal winner in the available listings: they do not provide a common set of independent performance or battery-life tests, and they cover different market contexts. The POCO M5 is a clearly manufacturer-confirmed example, but whether it suits you depends on its current local price, exact variant, warranty and the features you value. Use model lists to find candidates, then verify the manufacturer’s regional specifications and live local stock before purchasing.
