The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the premium, higher-storage option; the Infinix Note 60 Pro 5G is listed at a much lower price in India and advertises a faster-refresh display and higher-capacity battery. That does not by itself establish which phone is better in everyday use: they run different operating systems, and there is no matched camera, battery-life or performance test in the available evidence.
Here is how their published specifications and India price examples compare, and what to check before choosing.

Apple’s India store lists the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 256GB at ₹149,900. Apple’s September 9, 2025 India launch announcement also gave a starting price of ₹149,900. The Infinix India product page showed a sale price of ₹39,999 against a regular price of ₹54,999 when accessed October 7, 2026.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
At those displayed prices, the 256GB iPhone is ₹109,901 more than the Infinix sale listing, or ₹94,901 more than its displayed regular price. These are arithmetic differences between the cited India listings, not a guaranteed current saving: the Infinix search result showed a different sale price of ₹35,999 against ₹49,999. Offers can change or appear differently, so check the live pages and compare the same storage configuration before buying.
Prices from different countries should not be mixed as if they were equivalent. For example, Apple’s September 9, 2025 UK launch announcement gave a UK starting price of £1,199, while its U.S. launch announcement listed $1,199. Neither should be directly compared with India retail prices without accounting for market, currency, tax and timing.
Which phone makes more sense for your priorities?
Choose by operating system and ecosystem
The most basic distinction is iOS versus Android. Consider which system fits the apps, services, accessories and other devices you already use. The published specifications do not establish that one operating system is objectively better, and the source material does not establish how many years of software updates either phone will receive.

Choose by budget and storage
The cited India listings put the iPhone in a substantially higher price tier. It also offers configurations up to 2TB, compared with Infinix’s listed maximum of 256GB. Compare like-for-like capacity where possible: the iPhone’s ₹149,900 India store price is for 256GB, while the cited Infinix sale price is a live offer whose configuration and availability should be confirmed on the product page.

Interpret display numbers carefully
Apple lists a slightly larger 6.9-inch panel and adaptive refresh up to 120Hz; Infinix lists a 6.78-inch display with refresh options up to 144Hz. A higher maximum refresh-rate claim does not establish that the Infinix screen looks better or feels smoother in every app. Panel behaviour, brightness and real-world viewing conditions are not compared by these figures alone.
Do not infer camera quality from megapixels
The listed rear-camera hardware differs, but megapixel counts, aperture and stabilization specifications do not determine which phone takes better photos or video. No matched camera test is established here, so choose only after consulting comparable samples or tests that cover the kinds of shots and video you actually make.
Compare battery claims on the same basis
Infinix lists a 6500mAh capacity and maximum charging rates of 90W wired and 30W wireless. Apple instead publishes an up-to-39-hour video-playback rating and charging compatibility. A capacity figure and a playback estimate measure different things; they cannot establish which phone lasts longer in ordinary use. Charger requirements and conditions also affect charging speed.

IP68 and IP64 describe different levels of ingress protection under IEC 60529, but neither phone should be called waterproof. Apple’s iPhone rating specifies up to 6 metres for up to 30 minutes and includes caveats; Infinix says resistance may deteriorate and that submersion damage is not covered. Treat these ratings as limited protection, not permission to expose a phone to water.

Check local network compatibility
Both makers list 5G-related connectivity, but a feature listed on a product page does not guarantee service on every network. Confirm the exact regional model, supported bands and carrier compatibility for your location. Do not infer global band support from the Infinix India listing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the specifications cannot settle
The published figures make clear that the phones target different price tiers and offer different storage limits, operating systems, display claims and ingress-protection ratings. They do not settle comparative sustained performance, photo and video quality, real-world battery endurance, update duration, long-term value, warranty coverage or repair access. Those questions require matched tests or region-specific support and policy information rather than a conclusion drawn from headline specifications alone.
Before purchasing, verify the current price for the exact storage variant, the seller’s warranty and return terms, local carrier support, and availability of service and repair in your area.
