In the US, the Galaxy S26 FE is the lower-priced option: Samsung announced a $699.99 starting price, while Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro XL at $1,299. That is a $599.01 gap between the announced starting prices, but it is not a like-for-like live-price comparison: Samsung’s US store listing showed $699.99 for 128GB and $799.99 for 256GB, while Google’s figure is its launch price. The practical trade-off is a lower-cost phone with 128GB base storage and 3x optical telephoto versus a higher-priced Pixel with 256GB base storage, a higher-resolution LTPO display, and 5x optical telephoto.
How much more does the Pixel 11 Pro XL cost?
For US pricing, Samsung’s September 2026 announcement put the Galaxy S26 FE at a starting price of $699.99. Samsung’s US buy page displayed $699.99 for 128GB and $799.99 for 256GB when checked for this comparison. Google announced a $1,299 starting price for the Pixel 11 Pro XL on August 12, 2026. The difference between the two announced starting prices is $599.01; the difference between Google’s launch price and Samsung’s observed 256GB listing is $499.01. These figures use different price types, not matched current offers, and Samsung’s listing can change. Samsung’s US announcement, Samsung’s US buy page, and Google’s Pixel announcement provide the respective references.

Which phone has the better display?
The Pixel 11 Pro XL has the larger listed panel by 0.1 inch and a specified 1344 × 2992 resolution. Its LTPO panel supports a 1–120Hz refresh range, while Samsung lists the S26 FE’s 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED at 60/120Hz. The manufacturers’ brightness figures are not necessarily measured under identical conditions, so the stated nits alone do not establish which screen looks better in real use.
Which has better camera zoom?
By optical reach, Google lists a 5x telephoto camera for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, compared with 3x optical zoom on the Galaxy S26 FE. Both figures describe the telephoto hardware; they do not by themselves predict image quality. The larger digital zoom numbers—up to 120x Pro Zoom on the Pixel and up to 30x digital zoom on Samsung—are not equivalent to optical zoom.

How much storage do you get for the price?
The S26 FE starts at 128GB, with a 256GB configuration also listed by Samsung for the US. The Pixel 11 Pro XL starts at 256GB and is listed in 512GB and 1TB configurations as well. For a closer value comparison, compare the actual current price of Samsung’s 256GB model with the Pixel’s 256GB launch configuration rather than comparing only the two entry prices. Google lists 12GB RAM on its 256GB model and 16GB on the higher-storage configurations; Samsung lists 8GB RAM.

Does either phone include a charger?
The manufacturers’ cited fast-charging claims rely on separately sold adapters: Samsung specifies its 45W adapter for its wired charging estimate, and Google specifies a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher for its estimate. Include the cost of a compatible adapter if you do not already own one. The charging percentages are manufacturer claims, not a side-by-side test under identical conditions.

What do the seven-year software promises cover?
Samsung’s announcement describes seven years of software updates. Google’s statement is more specific in wording: seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates for Pixel 11 phones. The stated durations match, but the descriptions are not identical, so they should not be treated as a promise of precisely the same update scope.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S26 FE if its lower price and 128GB entry configuration fit your budget and storage needs, and 3x optical telephoto meets your expectations.
- Consider the Pixel 11 Pro XL if you value its listed 256GB base storage, 5x optical telephoto, or higher-resolution LTPO display enough to justify its higher announced price.
- Verify before buying: check the live price for the exact storage tier, local availability, and any carrier or retailer offer. Prices and configurations can differ outside the US.
Neither set of specifications settles real-world performance, battery life, or camera quality. No independent head-to-head results are established here, so those outcomes should not be inferred from processor names, battery capacity, megapixel counts, or zoom labels alone.
