We Work Remotely (WWR) offers a public RSS feed for remote-job listings and asks users to attribute links back to WWR. You can subscribe to all jobs or to category feeds, but combining feeds can introduce duplicates, and the XML content may not be as simple as a plain-text parser expects. Here is what the documentation establishes—and what a September 2026 inspection observed.
What does the public We Work Remotely RSS feed provide?
WWR’s all-jobs RSS feed provides a public way to consume job listings. Its official RSS page says anyone can use the feed and asks that links back to We Work Remotely be attributed. The page links both an all-jobs feed and category-specific feeds; it does not document a detailed XML schema in the text reviewed.

That distinction matters for developers: the endpoint and permission request are documented, but item fields and their precise encoding should be checked against the live feed rather than treated as a permanent contract. A third-party inspection by Dodo Data, based on a snapshot taken September 25, 2026 and published October 5, 2026, reported several practical behaviors described below.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesShould you use the all-jobs feed or category feeds?
Use the all-jobs feed when you want broad coverage and prefer to filter listings in your own application. Category feeds narrow the incoming scope, which can reduce irrelevant records but does not guarantee that feeds are disjoint.
#1 Best Overall
- Internet connectivity
- Displaying RSS feed
WWR’s page lists category feeds for Customer Support, Product Jobs, Full-Stack Programming, Back-End Programming, Front-End Programming, All Programming, Sales and Marketing, Management and Finance, Design, DevOps and System Admin, and All Other. The overlapping “All Programming” and narrower programming categories make duplication a particular concern when subscribing to several feeds.
| Approach | What it offers | Implementation consideration |
|---|---|---|
| All-jobs feed | Broad listing coverage through one subscription. | Filter locally if you only need selected job types. |
| One or more category feeds | More focused incoming listings. | Categories can overlap; combining feeds requires deduplication. |
| All-jobs feed plus category feeds | Potentially useful for separate workflows or category-specific handling. | Expect overlap and verify actual identifiers before merging records. |
Four parser traps to account for
1. The same listing can appear more than once
Dodo Data’s September 25, 2026 snapshot found the same listing in multiple feeds and one duplicated listing within the newest-jobs feed. In that inspection, the newest feed contained 80 items, while the twelve feeds together contained 253 distinct jobs. These are dated measurements, not a WWR item limit or a guarantee about current counts.

- Resizable Widget
- Dark and white layout
- Share content easily
If you merge feeds, inspect the actual link and guid values and choose a stable identifier based on what the feed supplies. A listing URL can be a useful deduplication key, but normalize it cautiously: removing meaningful URL components could collapse distinct records. Store which feed supplied each item if you need to preserve category provenance.
2. The description may contain escaped HTML
The third-party sample showed HTML markup escaped inside the XML description. Parse the document with a real XML/RSS parser first; only then handle any HTML, according to whether the output needs safe rendering or plain text. Stripping tags from raw XML with a regular expression can confuse XML structure with markup inside a field, and can mishandle escaped characters.

Because this is an observed sample rather than a schema promise, check current records before depending on that exact encoding. If rendering descriptions in a web page, sanitize HTML for that output context rather than assuming XML decoding makes embedded markup safe.
3. A valid feed can contain zero items
The inspection reported an empty Front-End Programming feed and distinguished it from a response that was not RSS. As Dodo Data put it, “An empty feed is a valid answer, not an error.” Category contents change, so an empty result is only an observation about that snapshot, not a claim that the category is always empty.
Rank #4
Keep transport and content checks separate from the item count: confirm the request succeeded, validate that the response is parseable RSS, and then accept zero entries as a possible valid outcome. An HTTP failure or malformed document should be handled differently from a valid feed with no items.

4. Compensation is not a structured field in the inspected feed
Dodo Data reported no dedicated pay field in its inspected snapshot; compensation ranges appeared in free-text descriptions for some listings. The article counted ranges in 78 of 253 inspected descriptions, where wording such as “Salary” or “Compensation” accompanied them. That is one snapshot’s text-extraction result, not a rate for all WWR listings or a promise that pay details will be present.
Best Value
- Add and manage RSS/Atom feeds by catagory
- Save favorites and custom feeds
- Share articles with friends
- Lightweight and easy to use
- Full screen video support for embedded videos in feed description and in external links
If you attempt salary extraction, treat it as best-effort text processing. Preserve ambiguous or missing amounts as unknown, and do not present an extracted range as complete or standardized compensation data.

- Fetch the documented feed URL. Start with the all-jobs endpoint or a category URL linked from WWR’s official RSS page.
- Validate each stage separately. Check request success, parse validity, and item count as distinct outcomes; do not turn an empty but valid feed into a parser error.
- Inspect identifiers before merging. Compare observed
linkandguidbehavior, then deduplicate using the most stable available value and cautious URL normalization. - Parse XML before processing description markup. After XML parsing, convert or sanitize embedded HTML as appropriate for the consumer.
- Keep observations time-stamped. Save when each item was fetched and avoid treating a dated count or category snapshot as permanent behavior.
- Attribute listing links when republishing. WWR’s official page asks users to attribute links back to We Work Remotely.
Is the public RSS feed the same as WWR’s API?
No. The public RSS feed is distinct from WWR’s employer-facing posting API. WWR directs employers interested in posting through its API to contact the company, and its READ API documentation says API access requires a special token. That API access requirement is not stated as a prerequisite for using the public RSS feed.
