For Uzbekistan’s official national foreign-trade figures, start with the National Statistics Committee (NSC) and its SIAT data catalogue. Use the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU) for balance-of-payments and broader external-sector measures, UN Comtrade for international product and partner comparisons, and the IMF’s National Summary Data Page (NSDP) to locate official releases and metadata. These sources can report different values because their coverage and methods may differ.
Where to find Uzbekistan’s official trade statistics
National Statistics Committee releases
The NSC is the primary source for Uzbekistan’s national foreign-trade releases. Its foreign-trade turnover release, published February 27, 2026, describes the scope and inputs behind the reported figures. Check the NSC site for a newer release before citing a current total.

SIAT catalogue
The NSC’s SIAT foreign-trade-turnover dataset is useful when you need a series and its metadata rather than only a summary release. SIAT identifies the NSC as the official preparer and describes the data inputs. Check the dataset’s reference period and whether the latest period is provisional or final.

Uzbekistan’s NSC foreign-trade statistics are not simply a count of customs declarations. For goods, the NSC describes using customs cargo declarations alongside statistical surveys covering some transfers between residents and non-residents that do not cross the state border or appear in customs declarations. Services statistics are compiled from surveys. SIAT metadata also describes inputs related to precious metals, service reporting, tourism surveys, and estimates for some individual trade.
#1 Best Overall
The NSC release describes the use of HS and SITC classifications. When comparing figures, confirm which classification and level of detail a table uses; a headline total and a product-level dataset may not be directly interchangeable.
When to use the Central Bank
The CBU is a complementary source for balance-of-payments and broader external-sector reporting. Those measures serve a different analytical purpose from a national foreign-trade turnover series, so identify the concept and adjustments used before comparing figures.
Rank #2
The CBU’s methodological-notes page lists a joint NSC-CBU note concerning discrepancies in external-trade indicators. Consult the linked note for its specific explanation when values differ; the existence of a discrepancy alone does not establish that either publication is erroneous.
When UN Comtrade is useful
UN Comtrade is useful for comparing Uzbekistan’s product and partner-country trade with other economies. It says data are supplied by official national agencies and points users to dataset-level availability and publication notes. Check those notes to see the reporting source and whether the relevant release is available.
Rank #3
Before comparing a Comtrade result with a national figure, check the dataset’s concepts and definitions. Coverage, statistical territory, product classification, partner detail, and valuation conventions can affect what a figure represents.

The IMF’s National Summary Data Page helps users find official producers’ data, metadata, and dissemination information. The IMF’s 2018 announcement about Uzbekistan’s implementation of the e-GDDS describes the role of official-producer links and data dissemination. Treat the NSDP as a discovery and access point, not as the originating authority for a particular trade series; follow its links and cite the NSC, CBU, or other producing agency’s dataset.

Checklist for comparing trade figures
- Period: Confirm the reference period and publication date, and whether a newer release has superseded the figure.
- Scope: Determine whether the series covers merchandise only, goods and services, or a balance-of-payments concept.
- Inputs: Check whether the figure draws on customs declarations, surveys, or other reported or estimated inputs.
- Classification and detail: Compare the product classification and level of aggregation.
- Territory, partners, and valuation: Review the statistical territory, partner-country treatment, and valuation convention.
- Release status: Check whether the period is provisional or final and note any revisions.
