Which accessories can use the same USB-C wall adapter?
Compatibility depends on the connector on the device or case, not just the charger. Use the table to identify what each item needs.

For older Lightning accessories beyond AirPods, Apple’s USB-C to Lightning Adapter can connect Lightning accessories to a USB-C iPhone or iPad. Check the accessory’s compatibility and charging instructions before relying on an adapter.
Can one charger power an iPhone and AirPods at the same time?
Yes, if the wall adapter has enough outputs and you have the right connection for each device. A two-port USB-C adapter can power an iPhone and AirPods case at once when both can connect by cable; a wireless-capable AirPods case can instead use a compatible charging surface.

Apple documents charging up to two devices simultaneously with its 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter. Its stated allocations are specific to that adapter and the listed pairings: when an iPhone and iPad are connected, each receives up to 17.5W; when a Mac laptop or iPhone is paired with an Apple Watch or AirPods, the first device receives up to 27.5W and the watch or AirPods up to 7.5W. What do you need to charge an Apple Watch?
The watch must sit on a compatible magnetic charger. Apple documents using the Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable with iPhone 15 and later as a way to charge the watch from the phone. That does not mean a USB-C wall adapter includes the magnetic charger: the cable or puck remains a separate part of the setup. See Apple’s USB-C iPhone guidance.

How to choose a shared USB-C charger
- Count the ports you need. To charge two devices at once, the adapter needs two suitable outputs, or one device must use a compatible wireless charging accessory.
- Match each connector. USB-C devices use a suitable USB-C cable; Lightning accessories may need a USB-C-to-Lightning cable or, where appropriate, Apple’s adapter; Apple Watch needs magnetic charging hardware.
- Check power allocation. Multiport adapters may divide their output among connected devices. The amount each receives depends on the adapter and the combination of devices.
- Use compliant equipment. Apple says third-party adapters should meet the applicable regulations and safety standards in the region where they are used. Non-compliant USB-C devices or cables may not work as expected. Apple’s USB power adapter guidance.
For iPhone charging speed, Apple says a USB-C adapter rated at 20W or higher can charge an iPhone faster than a lower-powered adapter. That is different from sharing a wall adapter. Apple says iPhone 15 and later can supply up to 4.5W to small devices that support USB Power Delivery. This is power supplied by the iPhone, not a general specification for USB-C wall chargers. Apple’s USB-C iPhone guidance.
