Choose the HONOR Magic8 Pro if you want a conventional flagship phone; choose the Magic V5 if opening your phone into a larger screen matters more. Those are different use cases, not a shared test ranking: the specifications below come from HONOR, while independent reviewers provide separate assessments. Before buying, confirm local stock, price, configuration, warranty and network compatibility.
Which HONOR phone fits your needs?
- For a conventional flagship: Consider the Magic8 Pro if you want a standard phone shape with premium camera hardware and current flagship components.
- For a larger screen in a pocketable device: Consider the Magic V5 if you value a foldable that opens to a 7.95-inch internal display.
- For a lower-cost option: Compare models in HONOR’s other ranges, including the HONOR 400 range covered in TechRadar’s buying guide. That coverage does not establish local availability or current pricing.
Neither model is automatically the best choice for every buyer. Compare the form factor, camera performance, battery and charging, software, price and local support against how you use a phone.

HONOR Magic8 Pro: a conventional flagship candidate
HONOR’s UK specification page lists a 12GB+512GB configuration, MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, a 200MP telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. See HONOR’s UK Magic8 Pro specifications and its global product page.
TechRadar’s review, published April 4, 2026, describes the Magic8 Pro as a powerful all-rounder. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a finding from a directly comparable test of all HONOR phones. Read the TechRadar Magic8 Pro review for its independent evaluation.

- Factory Unlocked (USA & Rest of the World), In USA Unlocked only for T-Mobile (GSM) and excluding Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, No CDMA / Dual SIM (Nano-SIM slot 4FF, eSIM), Networks: 2G GSM, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G
- 6.71 inches, OLED, FHD+ 1256 x 2808, 1.07 billion colors
- 1TB Storage, 16GB RAM
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 5) Mobile Platform, Adreno 840
- Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi, NFC
This model is the more natural fit if you want a traditional, non-folding phone and are drawn to the listed camera hardware. A megapixel count or zoom specification alone cannot establish how well a camera performs. Look for sample photos and consistent comparisons in the lighting and zoom ranges you actually use.
HONOR Magic V5: a foldable for a larger screen
HONOR lists a 7.95-inch internal display and a 6.43-inch external display for the Magic V5, along with a Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, a 5820mAh typical-capacity battery, 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and IP58/IP59 ratings. These are manufacturer-stated specifications and claims; they do not by themselves establish battery life or durability in everyday use. See the HONOR global Magic V5 page.

HONOR UK gives variant-specific dimensions: its ivory white model is listed at approximately 217g and 8.8mm thick when folded, while other colors are listed at approximately 222g and 9mm. The UK page distinguishes the battery’s typical capacity of 5820mAh from its rated capacity of 5690mAh. It says maximum wired charging power is 66W with the original SuperCharge charger, and that the wireless charger is sold separately. Check HONOR UK’s Magic V5 specifications for those regional details.
The V5 makes sense if opening the phone to a larger display is useful for your everyday tasks. Before choosing it, look for independent evaluation of folded comfort, crease visibility, app behavior across both screens, camera results, charging and battery endurance. The listed IP ratings and slim folded dimensions do not answer those questions.

How to compare HONOR phones before buying
- Decide on the form factor. A conventional phone and a foldable serve different screen-use preferences. Consider whether the larger internal screen is useful enough to justify a folding design.
- Match camera evidence to your use. Compare real photos—especially low-light, portrait and zoom samples—rather than selecting by megapixel count alone. Check that comparisons use consistent conditions.
- Separate battery specifications from endurance. Capacity and supported charging power describe the hardware; they do not tell you how long a phone lasts or how quickly it charges in your routine. Use measured results only when the tester and conditions are clear.
- Check software and sustained performance. Confirm the software version for the exact regional model and look for verified update-policy information. A processor name does not establish sustained performance by itself.
- Verify the local offer. Check the country-specific HONOR site and retailers for the exact model, storage configuration, price, stock, warranty, network compatibility and service options. These details can vary by market.
Are other HONOR models worth considering?
TechRadar’s buying guide, updated April 20, 2026, covers the Magic V5, Magic8 Pro and HONOR 400 range as part of its overview of HONOR phone categories. It is a useful independent starting point, but not proof that every model is currently sold in your country. See TechRadar’s HONOR phone buying guide.
HONOR’s global phone directory lists the Magic V6 and Magic8 Pro. A global directory listing does not confirm a local launch, retail availability or price. Check HONOR’s global phone directory alongside your country’s product listings before treating a model as an option you can buy.

What a ranking can—and cannot—tell you
The available specifications support a practical shortlist, not a single objective ranking across all HONOR phones. HONOR’s product pages establish what the company lists for each device; TechRadar supplies independent coverage of selected models. The sources do not establish one directly comparable test across the Magic8 Pro, Magic V5 and every other HONOR model. Treat “best” as a match for your priorities, and rely on independently tested camera, battery, display and performance results when those are central to your decision.
