Reduce animation effects
On the Galaxy Z Fold6 path in Samsung’s user guide, open Settings → Accessibility → Vision enhancements → Reduce animations and turn it on. Samsung describes it as a way to reduce animation effects for people sensitive to animations or screen movement. The guide does not say this removes every animation or lets you set a custom transition duration. Samsung’s Fold6 user guide is specific to that model and software context, so check your phone if the labels differ.

Adjust perceived scrolling smoothness
Open Settings → Display → Motion smoothness. Samsung’s display guidance describes Adaptive as adjusting refresh rate for smoother visuals and Standard as favoring battery life. This changes refresh-rate behavior, not a documented animation-duration setting. Samsung Canada says Adaptive can go up to 120 Hz and Standard is 60 Hz; 60 Hz means the display refreshes 60 times per second. These figures describe refresh rate, not how long a screen transition lasts. Samsung’s display settings guidance notes the option may not be available on every device.
If scrolling feels less smooth
Samsung’s One UI 7 troubleshooting guidance says scrolling may feel less smooth with Standard selected or Power saving enabled. It recommends Adaptive when available and notes that Power saving can prevent Adaptive from being selected. Samsung’s One UI 7 guidance addresses refresh rate and scrolling, not transition duration.

Manage how apps use the cover and main displays
Samsung’s Fold support route is Settings → Display → Full screen apps. Choose an app and select Full screen to configure its display behavior. Supported apps can continue between the cover and main screens, but not every app fully supports App continuity. Samsung’s Fold display guidance explains the setting and its app-specific context.
Samsung’s developer guidance says continuity should preserve a user’s place where possible, such as scroll position and text input. What happens depends on the app, so a refresh or layout change during folding may not be corrected by changing an animation setting. Android’s fold-aware app guidance describes the continuity considerations for developers.

For Flex mode panel controls, use Settings → Advanced features → Flex mode panel. This foldable-specific panel works with supported apps; it is not a general control for animation speed. Availability varies by device and app. Samsung’s Flex mode guidance covers the feature.

Samsung Developer’s motion guidance gives design parameters for people creating One UI motion: durations should be at least 100 ms and should not exceed 500 ms.
