The other three plans in the comparison do not list Polish servers.
Which free VPN plans include a Polish server?
Gizmodo compared five plans for Poland in 2026. Its list distinguishes the ability to connect to a Polish IP from general VPN privacy: a nearby-country connection can encrypt traffic, but a service that requires a Polish IP may still refuse access.

All entries and plan details in this table are as reported by Gizmodo’s 2026 comparison, not an independently reproduced test here. Plan locations, allowances, device limits and refund conditions can change, so check the provider’s current terms before signing up. Windscribe’s allowance is presented differently by another review: RTINGS says its free allowance is 2 GB per month with a username and 10 GB with an email address. That difference makes it important to verify eligibility and the current allowance rather than assume one figure applies to every account.

For a no-cost Polish IP without a data cap
Proton VPN is the match in Gizmodo’s comparison if you need a permanent free plan, unlimited data and a Polish exit location. The trade-off is that the server is assigned automatically and the free plan is listed for one device. If you need to choose Poland yourself, this reported free-plan setup does not provide that control.

For a Polish location with a refund period
Gizmodo lists NordVPN with a Polish server and a 30-day money-back window. A refund window is a paid-service purchase with a possible refund under the provider’s terms; it is not the same as an ongoing free plan. Read the current refund conditions, including any eligibility requirements, before relying on it.
For general privacy rather than a Polish exit
hide.me, PrivadoVPN and Windscribe may be relevant if your main aim is encrypting a connection on public Wi-Fi and you do not need a Polish IP. Gizmodo lists hide.me with unlimited data and PrivadoVPN and Windscribe with 10 GB per month each, but none has a Polish server in that comparison. A VPN can protect traffic between your device and the VPN service; it does not make a non-Polish exit address appear Polish.

What Gizmodo says it tested—and what that establishes
Gizmodo says its team ran each plan on a fiber line in Kraków and on mobile data in Łódź, checked DNS, IPv6 and WebRTC leaks, reviewed privacy policies, and tested TVP VOD, Player.pl and WP Pilot. It reports that NordVPN ping stayed under 40 ms from Kraków and that the reviewer used it for 26 days before receiving a refund. Those are Gizmodo’s reported observations in its 2026 comparison; conditions may differ by network, device, server load and date.

The comparison also warns that free shared-server IP addresses can be detected by streaming services. A Polish server therefore does not guarantee that TVP VOD, Player.pl or WP Pilot will work, and a successful test at one point in time does not establish ongoing access. TechRadar’s free-VPN comparison likewise treats streaming, P2P and security features as distinct considerations rather than assuming every free plan supports every use.

How to decide before you connect
- Check whether the service truly requires a Polish IP. If it only needs an encrypted connection, a free plan without a Polish server may be enough. If it checks your apparent country, a nearby-country server may not satisfy it.
- Confirm the current plan terms. Verify that Poland is included, whether the plan is permanently free or only refundable, the data allowance, simultaneous-device limit and whether you can select the country yourself. These terms are time-sensitive.
- Match the allowance and controls to your use. Unlimited data does not compensate for an automatically assigned location if Poland is essential. A monthly cap may be workable for occasional browsing but restrictive for frequent video use.
- Test the actual service you need. Connect, check the target site or app, and confirm that it behaves as expected. A VPN location alone cannot guarantee streaming access or bypass a service’s detection.
- Use the VPN with realistic privacy expectations. A VPN changes the route and apparent IP address seen by many services; it does not make you anonymous or protect you from every tracking method, account identifier or unsafe download.

Is using a VPN legal in Poland?
The comparison’s FAQ raises this question, but the material available here does not establish a current, authoritative legal answer. For legal advice, check an appropriate Polish government or legal source rather than treating a VPN comparison as legal guidance.
Can Polish services be opened from abroad?
Some services may require a Polish IP, but availability can also depend on the service’s own geographic restrictions and VPN detection. A Polish exit address is not a guarantee of access.
