When to choose the 4K Stick, 4K Plus, or 4K Max
Fire TV Stick 4K – 3rd Gen (2026)
This is the straightforward starting point for a 4K set if HDR10+ and Wi-Fi 6 meet your needs. Amazon’s cited description does not list Dolby Vision, so do not buy it assuming that format is supported. A 4K stick can deliver 4K output only when the display, content and streaming service support it.

Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2025)
Consider the Plus if you want Amazon-listed Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos alongside HDR10+, while keeping Wi-Fi 6. Its published specifications list 8 GB storage and Fire OS 8. Confirm that the apps and services you need are available for this exact model.
Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen, 2023)
The Max stands out in Amazon’s specifications for Wi-Fi 6E and 16 GB storage, as well as Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Those features may be useful with a compatible network and AV setup; the specification comparison does not prove faster streaming, smoother menus or better value in a given home.

What to check before you buy
- Match the stick to the screen. An HD-only television is suited to the HD model; choose a 4K model if you want 4K output on a compatible 4K television.
- Check HDR formats across the whole chain. The 2026 standard 4K description names HDR10+; Amazon lists Dolby Vision for the Plus and Max. Your television and the content service must also support the format.
- Check your network and storage needs. Amazon lists Wi-Fi 6 on the 2026 HD and 4K models and the Plus; the Max lists Wi-Fi 6E and 16 GB storage. The Select’s comparable Wi-Fi and storage details are not established in the cited material. Wi-Fi labels alone do not predict measured streaming performance.
