For a first Fusion, craft an accessible Rare recipe only when its three droids are already spare. WHL-EX (two Mouse and one ARG) or ZRO-TEC (two ID10 and one 2BB) lets a newly unlocked player learn the machine without immediately consuming bottleneck ingredients. Do not treat the cheapest craft as the best permanent production choice: reserve Groundmech, KX, BDX Explorer and other shared droids until you have selected a late-game goal. For an established workshop, community players most often point to AXL-POD, LOW-MO and LUG-G, but those preferences and the associated output figures are anecdotal, not a verified ranking.
The short answer: choose by workshop stage
Your best first fusion depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Fusion unlocks at Rebirth 3, and the station reportedly costs 400,000 Credits in an October 12, 2026 guide. Confirm both details at the live station prompt, because costs and unlock requirements can change.

- Just unlocked Fusion: choose WHL-EX or ZRO-TEC if you already own the required Rare droids and none is needed for a more valuable plan. These recipes are described as relatively accessible at the Sandcrawler.
- Building toward higher tiers: stop and map your inventory first. A single Groundmech, KX or BDX Explorer can be the limiting ingredient for more than one recipe.
- Optimizing a developed workshop: investigate AXL-POD, LOW-MO or LUG-G after checking their current recipes and any bonuses shown in your machine. Players favor these names for different reasons, but there is no controlled, official comparison proving one is universally best.
Every fusion consumes three droids permanently. Because the process cannot be reversed, “first” should mean the craft that teaches you the system without removing an ingredient you will soon need.
What Fusion does and when it becomes available
Unlock and cost
The detailed September 8, 2026 guide places Fusion at Rebirth 3. A separate guide dated October 12 reports a 400,000-Credit construction cost for the Fusion station. These are secondary reports rather than a current in-game ledger, so use the amount and requirement as a budgeting indication and read the station’s present prompt before spending Credits.

Three droids go in, one result comes out
Place three eligible droids in the Workshop’s Droid Fusion Machine and confirm the craft. The machine consumes all three; there is no documented undo or recovery button. The September guide lists 17 Fusion-exclusive results. It also reports that result quality follows the lowest-quality input. If you combine three matching droids, the same guide says the machine can produce a higher-tier version. The exact behavior and labels should be checked in your current Workshop.
What the developer announcement says
FOAD Eric, Developer, Community Team, described the system this way: “Combine 3 Droids in your Workshop’s Droid Fusion Machine to create:” The announcement says combinations can yield higher-rarity droids, new variations, or completely new droids, and calls Fusion “a permeant feature!” (The unusual spelling is retained from the published statement.) That wording explains why the same three-slot machine supports both known recipes and combination outcomes that may change with updates.
Documented Fusion recipes
The table below reproduces the 17-result list in the September 8 guide. Treat it as a dated snapshot, not a permanent recipe book. Names and capitalization can differ slightly between guides; use the labels displayed by your machine before confirming a craft.

One naming warning matters: the guide calls the final Mythic recipe AXL-POD, while community posts sometimes render the name differently. Do not substitute an alternate spelling unless the in-game machine confirms it.
Best first crafts for a new Fusion player
WHL-EX: the simplest reported entry point
WHL-EX uses two Mouse and one ARG. GAMES.GG’s September guide presents Mouse and ARG among the more accessible Rare inputs at the Sandcrawler. If you have a spare set and are not saving ARG for ARM-CORE, WHL-EX is a low-risk way to see the confirmation flow, consume three droids, and learn how the output appears in your Workshop.
ZRO-TEC: an alternative when ID10 is plentiful
ZRO-TEC requires two ID10 and one 2BB. It is the better introductory choice when your inventory has those droids but not a safe surplus of Mouse or ARG. ID10 also appears in the Mythic LUG-G recipe, so check your longer-term plan first; an “easy” Rare craft is not cheap if it delays the Mythic result you actually want.

BTL-R: Rare, but not automatically beginner-friendly
BTL-R combines B1 Battle, R9 and BDX Explorer. Although it is listed as Rare, BDX Explorer is also used for Mythic AXL-POD. If AXL-POD is a likely target, keep BDX Explorer rather than spending it simply because BTL-R has a lower tier.

In practical terms, pick the Rare recipe whose inputs are both available and replaceable. Rarity describes the output tier; it does not measure the opportunity cost of the ingredients in your particular Workshop.
Ingredients you should protect before committing
Groundmech is a documented bottleneck
Groundmech appears in Epic SCRP-R and Legendary QIK-BIT. SCRP-R needs one; QIK-BIT needs two. If you own only one Groundmech, using it for SCRP-R removes the option to pursue QIK-BIT until you obtain two more. Decide whether you value the immediate Epic result or the later Legendary plan before opening the machine.

BDX Explorer links a Rare and a Mythic path
BDX Explorer is required by Rare BTL-R and Mythic AXL-POD. It is therefore one of the clearest examples of why a low-tier recipe can have a high strategic cost. Keep at least the number needed for your intended AXL-POD crafts unless you have abandoned that target.
KX is shared by two Mythic recipes
Mythic RIV-3T uses one KX, while X-ONK uses two. A single KX cannot satisfy both recipes. Count the copies you can realistically replace, then reserve them before experimenting with any combination that might consume them.

- ID10: needed by ZRO-TEC and LUG-G.
- B1 Battle: needed by BTL-R and RO-TOR.
- B1 Heavy: needed by N-UL and SRV-0.
- Gunrunner: needed by N-UL and ORB-XL.
- Gonk: needed by SCRP-R and X-ONK.
- BB9: needed by RO-TOR and QIK-BIT.
- R7: needed by FUS-3 and AXL-POD.
- Loadlifter: needed by LUG-G and LOW-MO.
These overlaps do not establish a universal priority; they tell you where a one-time craft can close off another option.

AXL-POD
AXL-POD uses Ric, BDX Explorer and R7. Community discussion favors it as a companion-oriented choice and one commenter reported a companion pickaxe bonus. That bonus is a player observation, not an official specification in the available material. Choose AXL-POD when that utility matters to your playstyle and you can spare BDX Explorer and R7.
LOW-MO
LOW-MO requires two A-LT and one Loadlifter. Players often describe it as a production-focused option. A Reddit commenter reported a Stellar work-output figure of 1.57M for LOW-MO, but the post does not establish a controlled test, an official unit definition or whether the value remains current. Treat the number as a lead for your own in-game comparison, not a guarantee.
LUG-G
LUG-G combines Loadlifter, ID10 and R5. It competes with LOW-MO for Loadlifter and with ZRO-TEC for ID10, so its opportunity cost depends heavily on your stock. The same community commenter reported 1.43M in Stellar work output for LUG-G and 1.50M for AXL-POD. Those figures are anecdotal and may reflect different conditions; they cannot prove that either droid beats LOW-MO for every workshop.

Use the machine’s current preview, your available ingredients and the objective you care about—production, companion utility or collection completion—rather than copying a community ranking.
A safe crafting procedure
- Reach Rebirth 3. Confirm that Fusion is unlocked in your current Workshop.
- Check the station prompt. Verify the present Credit cost; the reported October figure is 400,000 Credits.
- Open the Droid Fusion Machine. Select the desired result or inspect the combination preview shown by the live interface.
- Audit all three slots. Compare each droid with the recipe table and your planned alternatives. Pay special attention to Groundmech, BDX Explorer, KX, R7, Loadlifter, ID10 and ARG.
- Confirm quality implications. The September guide says the lowest-quality input determines output quality. Replace an unexpectedly low-quality ingredient if the preview allows it and the recipe calls for a specific tier.
- Read the final warning. Make sure the result name, tier and three consumed droids are what you intend.
- Craft and verify. After the animation, check the Workshop inventory and any displayed work or companion effects. Record the result if you are testing a community claim.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Spending the only shared ingredient: copy your target recipe and count every overlapping droid before confirming.
- Assuming a Rare result is always inexpensive: BTL-R can consume a BDX Explorer needed for Mythic AXL-POD, and ZRO-TEC can consume ID10 needed for LUG-G.
- Expecting a rollback: the October guide says the three droids are consumed irreversibly. There is no documented refund path.
- Relying on an old screenshot: recipes, costs, names, bonuses and output behavior are volatile. Inspect the live machine after an update.
- Treating player output numbers as official stats: the 1.57M, 1.50M and 1.43M figures came from a community comment without independent validation or confirmed units.
- Forcing a recipe when the preview disagrees: guide capitalization and labels differ. The Workshop’s current display takes precedence.
A decision rule you can reuse after updates
First, reserve ingredients for any specific Mythic or production objective. Second, if no objective is fixed, choose a Rare recipe whose inputs are abundant and not shared with your next likely plan. Third, compare the live preview rather than an old tier list. Finally, write down what was consumed and what the result actually does; that personal record is more reliable than an unverified ranking when the island changes.
As of October 15, 2026, the evidence supports a cautious recommendation rather than a single “best” fusion: WHL-EX or ZRO-TEC for a low-risk introduction, and AXL-POD, LOW-MO or LUG-G only after deliberate ingredient planning. The 17-recipe list is useful for planning, but the current Droid Fusion Machine is the authority at the moment you spend your droids.
