CMF publishes Android and iPhone support for its Buds, Buds Pro, Neckband Pro and Watch Pro, while its power adaptor is designed for devices that use USB Power Delivery. The important exceptions are feature parity, charging protocols and watch-generation-specific docks: an accessory may connect successfully without delivering every advertised control or the fastest possible charge.

Use this table as the first check before buying or replacing an accessory. The operating-system versions are CMF’s published minimums, not a promise that every function behaves identically on every handset.

CMF Buds, Buds Pro and Neckband Pro
These three audio families are the easiest CMF accessories to use with another manufacturer’s phone. CMF lists the same minimum Android and iOS versions for each, so a compatible operating system is the starting point whether the phone is made by Apple, Samsung, Google, Motorola or another vendor.
What the published support means
Bluetooth audio should be the basic cross-phone use case: pairing, playback and calls do not require a Nothing-branded handset. CMF’s support pages, however, only establish operating-system support. They do not say that every companion-app screen, gesture assignment, firmware option or advanced control is available in exactly the same way on every model.

That distinction matters when a phone meets the software floor but uses aggressive battery management, a heavily customized Bluetooth stack or an older security patch. If listening and calling work but a setting is missing, treat it as a phone or app feature limitation rather than assuming the earphones are defective. Check the accessory’s current support page and keep the phone’s operating system and relevant CMF software current.
Practical setup on another phone
- Charge the earbuds or neckband and place the accessory in pairing mode according to its supplied instructions.
- On the phone, open Settings > Bluetooth and enable Bluetooth.
- Select the CMF accessory when its name appears, then approve the pairing request.
- Play a test track and make a test call. Confirm that audio output and microphone input switch to the accessory.
- If the product offers optional controls or updates through a CMF app, install the app offered for your operating system and check which functions are exposed on that handset.
Do not use the operating-system floor as a performance guarantee. A phone can be technically supported yet lack a particular control because the manufacturer, operating system or app implementation handles Bluetooth permissions differently.
CMF Watch Pro: broad phone support with more dependencies
Watch Pro works with both iPhone and Android phones within the versions listed in the table, but it is more phone-dependent than a pair of headphones. Its phone-linked functions require Bluetooth and the CMF Watch app; the watch is not a stand-alone replacement for a phone connection.

Bluetooth and app requirements
CMF identifies Bluetooth 5.3 for Watch Pro. Pair the watch from the CMF Watch app rather than treating it like a generic Bluetooth speaker. The app handles setup and firmware updates and maintains the connection used for notifications and other phone-linked features.
Some Android phones stop background apps to save power. When that happens, the watch can appear paired while notifications, synchronization or other connection-dependent functions stop updating. If your phone has an option such as unrestricted battery use, background activity or autostart management for the CMF Watch app, allow the app to run in the background. The exact label differs by manufacturer, so use the phone’s app-battery settings rather than looking for a universal menu name.
Features Watch Pro does not provide
- Watch Pro does not support NFC, so it cannot provide NFC-based payment or access functions.
- It does not include eSIM support; cellular service must come from the paired phone.
- It cannot connect directly to Bluetooth headphones.
For music control, CMF’s documented arrangement is to connect the headphones to the phone, connect Watch Pro to that phone, and then use the watch’s music controls. The watch acts as a remote for the phone’s playback path; it is not the Bluetooth audio source for the headphones.

If another phone cannot find the watch
CMF’s troubleshooting sequence is deliberately conservative. Follow it in order so that a simple pairing conflict is resolved before a reset erases settings:
- Check whether Watch Pro is still connected to another phone. Disconnect or unpair it there before attempting a new pairing.
- On the new phone, verify that Bluetooth can discover other nearby devices. If it cannot, resolve the phone’s Bluetooth problem first.
- Restart the watch and try discovery again from the CMF Watch app.
- Install any available Watch Pro firmware update in the app.
- Reset the watch only if the earlier checks fail, then repeat setup as a new device.
CMF’s Bluetooth detection guidance and Watch Pro support page provide the product-specific recovery path. A reset should be the last step because it removes the existing watch configuration.
Charging a different phone with the CMF power adaptor
The CMF power adaptor is a general USB charger rather than a phone-specific dock. CMF says it supports most devices that support USB Power Delivery, including phones, tablets and PCs. Its listed charging standards are PD 3.0, PPS and QC.

Why a USB-C plug does not guarantee maximum speed
Charging speed is negotiated between the adaptor and the device. The phone must support a compatible USB-PD mode, and its charging software decides which voltage and current to request. A phone that relies on a manufacturer-specific fast-charge system may charge safely but more slowly, or may not use the adaptor’s highest output. CMF also notes that the charged device’s software version can affect the maximum result.
CMF does not publish one universal wattage result for every phone. Therefore, compare the adaptor’s supported protocol with the phone maker’s specification instead of assuming that a matching USB-C connector means full-speed charging.

Safe compatibility check
- Look up whether the phone supports USB Power Delivery and, if relevant, PPS or QC.
- Use a suitable USB-C cable rated for the desired charging mode.
- Connect the adaptor and check the phone’s charging indicator. A normal charging message can mean the phone is using a lower negotiated profile.
- If charging is intermittent, try another cable and remove lint or debris from the phone’s port before blaming the adaptor.
- For a proprietary fast-charge phone, consult that phone’s specification for the expected speed with third-party PD chargers.
CMF’s adaptor troubleshooting FAQ is the relevant reference when a device will not charge at all.

Watch charging cables and docks are generation-specific
Do not assume that a magnetic watch charger fits every CMF watch. CMF recommends the original cable supplied with Watch Pro in its watch-cable FAQ.
There is one documented cross-generation exception: CMF says the Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 docks are interchangeable. That statement applies to those two generations; it does not establish compatibility with every other CMF watch or with an unverified replacement listing. When buying a replacement, match the exact watch generation and part description.
A watch dock is fundamentally different from the power adaptor. The adaptor can serve many PD-compatible devices, while the dock’s physical alignment, contacts and charging electronics are designed for particular watch models.

What CMF’s compatibility statements do not promise
- They do not certify every phone model individually.
- They do not guarantee identical app controls or firmware features across manufacturers.
- They do not guarantee the fastest charging speed on a phone with a proprietary protocol.
- They do not make Watch Pro a cellular, NFC or direct-to-headphones device.
- They do not make every CMF watch dock interchangeable.
The practical rule is straightforward: audio accessories have the broadest cross-phone reach, Watch Pro works when its app and Bluetooth connection are maintained, and the adaptor is broadly useful when the phone speaks a compatible charging protocol. Check the exact product-generation support page before purchasing a replacement or relying on a feature that matters to you.
