For a practical Anime Origins lineup, start with Bluma (often searched as Bulma) for farm income, then choose a carry for your mode and fill any missing support, area-damage, or control role. The strongest documented carry options in the August 24, 2026 roster snapshot are Madaro (Madara), Cursed Lover (Yuta), and Valcrad (Alucard). These are community/editorial recommendations—not official developer rankings or verified DPS measurements—and the snapshot predates Update 2’s seven new units.
Anime Origins tier list: quick picks by role
| Need | Recommended pick | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Farm income or beginner support | Bluma (Data Analyst), commonly searched as Bulma | The August 24 list rates Bluma S for farm and support and identifies her as a beginner-friendly economy pick. |
| Flexible support, farm, and carry coverage | Bon (Purgatory), commonly called Ban | Listed as a hybrid with support, farm, and carry roles for Raids and Infinite. This role compression can save a slot, but does not establish that Bon replaces a dedicated damage carry in every team. |
| Carry, boss damage, area damage, and control | Madaro (Edo Tensei), commonly called Madara | Rated S in the August 24 snapshot and tagged for carry, boss, area damage, and control. |
| Carry, area damage, and support | Cursed Lover (Pure Love), commonly called Yuta | Rated S in that snapshot for carry, area damage, and support. |
| Carry, boss damage, and control | Valcrad (Unleashed), also called Alucard | Rated S in that snapshot for carry, boss damage, and control. |
The recommendations above reflect the detailed roster list checked August 24, 2026, not a standardized test. The separate Update 2 guide, updated September 24, reports seven additions but does not provide comparable verified DPS testing for them. Treat the older list as a dated starting point rather than a definitive ranking of the full current roster. MrGuider’s Update 2 tier list describes its ranking as subjective.

How to choose a carry, support, farm, or DPS unit
There is no single best unit independent of team and mode. Before following a tier letter, compare a candidate on these factors:
- Mode: Story, Infinite, and Raids ask for different combinations of damage, economy, control, and mechanic coverage.
- Placement: Check whether a unit is ground, hill, hybrid, or listed as unknown. A highly ranked unit cannot fill a placement your lineup needs if its placement does not fit.
- Job: Distinguish carry or boss damage from area damage, farm income, support, control, and coverage for a specific mechanic.
- Progression and investment: Consider how you obtain or evolve the unit and whether it is realistic for your account to build now.
- Team overlap: A second top carry may add less than an economy unit or control specialist if your roster already has damage covered.
The August 24 tier list records placements, roles, modes, and obtain or evolution notes by unit. Its categories show why rank and usefulness are not interchangeable: a specialist below the top tier can still supply a role your team lacks. The detailed Anime Origins tier list also frames team building by mode rather than treating one ranking as universal.

Build around the mode you are playing
Story
Cover both ground and hill placements, bring a dependable early carry, and include economy and area damage. A lineup that can attack only one placement type may struggle even if its units are individually well ranked.
Infinite
Prioritize damage that scales into longer runs, alongside economy, area damage, and support or control. Bon’s listed hybrid roles may help combine jobs, but check whether the resulting lineup still has enough dedicated damage for your run.

Raids
Favor boss damage, support or control, and the coverage needed for raid mechanics. Madaro and Valcrad are documented carry/boss options in the August roster snapshot; the right choice still depends on the rest of your team and the encounter.
These mode priorities come from the August 24 roster guide’s strategy framework. They are role recommendations, not guaranteed clears or measured damage outcomes.

The guide organizes its recommendations into Meta Overall, Meta Ground, Meta Hill, Meta Support, and Farms, meaning versatile picks, ground-focused picks, hill-platform picks, assistance, and resource or currency farming, respectively. It also offers trait recommendations for the new units; those are that guide’s advice, not official developer data.

The available Update 2 coverage does not establish comparable, verified DPS figures for those new units. No numeric DPS benchmark or standardized independent performance test is provided by the reviewed rankings, so a precise damage ordering would be misleading. For another dated perspective, Anime Origins Wiki’s community-reported roster guide says to confirm the current banner in-game and cautions that exact drop rates are not developer-published. Rankings and availability can change; check the live game before spending resources on a unit based solely on an older list.
