Specifications and qualitative assessments above reflect the cited guides and product information, not independent testing for this article. The Roku Select Series HD information describes a range rather than one uniform configuration. Confirm the precise model number, resolution, HDR support and included remote before buying. Roku-branded TVs and third-party televisions that use Roku software are separate product lines.

Which model fits your room and priorities?
LG 32LQ6300: a Full HD general-purpose option
TechRadar names the LG 32LQ6300 its best 32-inch TV for most people, citing its picture, gaming performance and better-than-expected built-in audio. Its listed specification is a 1080p LED screen with webOS, HDR10 and HLG. The same guide notes a cluttered home menu and some black-uniformity issues. Treat “best” as TechRadar’s editorial judgment, not a guarantee that it is the best choice in every country or at every price.

Amazon Fire TV 2-Series: a US budget-oriented choice
TechRadar describes this 32-inch, 720p LED set as a low-cost option with Fire TV, HDR10 and HLG. It also notes decent built-in sound, but warns of inconsistent picture quality and potentially laggy navigation. The guide’s prices are not current pricing, so compare local listings rather than relying on an old figure. HDR-format support does not change the panel’s native 720p resolution.

TCL S5400: a UK-market Full HD example
TechRadar lists the 32-inch TCL S5400 with a 1080p LCD panel, Google TV, HDR10 and HLG. This is specifically a UK budget example: do not assume that the same model name, platform or specification applies in another market. Check the retailer’s full SKU and the apps available in your country.
Samsung Q60D: a less common 4K/QLED configuration
TechRadar’s US guide lists the 32-inch Samsung Q60D as a 4K QLED television using Tizen, with HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. The guide highlights detail and colour, while noting a higher price and thin sound. Small-screen 4K is unusual, so this is worth considering if you specifically want that resolution and feature set. Samsung model names and specifications can differ by region; verify the exact SKU rather than assuming every Q60D listing has these specifications.

Roku Select Series HD: choose for the Roku experience
Roku’s official support information lists its Select Series HD in 24-, 32- and 40-inch sizes. The series spans 720p and 1080p, with HDR on select SKUs; Roku says voice remotes are included on 2025-and-later models. Its support information establishes the range and features, not a head-to-head performance ranking. Confirm whether a listing is a Roku-branded TV or a television from another manufacturer that uses Roku software.
How to choose resolution and picture features
At 32 inches, HD (720p) and Full HD (1080p) are common options; 4K models are less common. TechRadar’s listed Samsung Q60D is an example of a 4K set at this size. A higher resolution is one factor, not a promise of better overall picture quality: panel performance, processing, the content you watch and viewing distance also matter.

- Choose by native resolution: check the exact SKU’s stated resolution, rather than inferring it from a series name or a generic retailer listing.
- Check HDR formats separately: HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG support varies. Confirm the formats on the TV and the content you intend to watch; the format label alone does not establish how impressive the picture will look.
- Think about what you watch: if most viewing is broadcast television or streaming on a small screen, a suitable HD or Full HD model may be enough. If you specifically want 4K, verify both that the 32-inch model is native 4K and that your sources provide 4K content.
Which smart-TV platform should you choose?
The examples use webOS, Fire TV, Google TV, Tizen and Roku OS. Prefer the interface you find easiest to navigate and the services you already use, then check that the apps you need are available for that television in your country. Platform names alone do not guarantee the same app catalogue or experience across regions and model years.
- webOS: listed on the LG 32LQ6300.
- Fire TV: listed on the Amazon Fire TV 2-Series.
- Google TV: listed on the UK-market TCL S5400 example.
- Tizen: listed on the US-market Samsung Q60D example.
- Roku OS: used on Roku Select Series HD televisions; distinguish Roku-branded sets from third-party Roku TVs.
Is a 32-inch TV big enough for a bedroom?
A 32-inch set is often considered for a bedroom, kitchen, guest room or other secondary space. Samsung describes its 32-inch class TVs as suitable for rooms such as these. For its US guidance, Samsung gives 0.98 m (3.2 ft) as an optimal viewing distance for a 32-inch class TV. That is Samsung’s recommendation, not a universal rule; comfort, eyesight, content and room layout affect the distance that works for you.

What should you check before installation?
For a stand or shelf
- Check the television’s overall dimensions and the width and depth of its stand against the furniture.
- Allow room for cables, ventilation and access to the connections you plan to use.
- Use the model’s instructions for safe placement; do not assume every 32-inch TV has the same footprint or stability requirements.
For a wall mount
- Confirm the TV’s VESA mounting pattern, weight and dimensions in its own specifications.
- Check that the mount supports that pattern and weight, and follow both manufacturers’ installation instructions.
- Consider viewing angles and the wall location before fixing the mount. A size label alone does not establish compatibility.
Will you need better sound?
Built-in audio varies. TechRadar notes decent sound on the Amazon Fire TV 2-Series and better-than-expected audio on the LG 32LQ6300, but describes the Samsung Q60D’s sound as thin. If dialogue clarity or fuller sound matters, an optional soundbar may help; check the TV’s available audio outputs and the soundbar’s supported connection before purchase. No accessory is required for the TV to work.
